I'm trying to sort it out in my head and I can think of maybe one situation where this could occur in the format though I may certainly be wrong and perhaps the way the games are scheduled will sort this out. I just feel that a player should obviously never be in a situation where losing can be more beneficial than winning, not sure if this could occur or not in this tournament format.
Once again though, cheers on a great tournament with a solid prize pool. I'm also really happy with the first two invites, good job. Honestly, I don't think that's ever the players fault to throw a match when it legitimately benefits them to lose a match.. not sure how it could be solved though. I agree it's not the player's fault. This is something that should be sorted out within the tournament format. I don't really think Stephano or BratOK are particularly at fault for their incident because the tournament they were playing in put them in a position where they had a better chance at winning the tournament if they lost their games. A player should want to win all their games in an ideal situation, they should be expected to try their best even if there isn't that much to gain(particularly if they are being paid simply for participating) but if they're put in a situation where they could benefit from losing due to the format of the tournament, I don't think it's their fault for throwing. Honestly, I don't think that's ever the players fault to throw a match when it legitimately benefits them to lose a match.. not sure how it could be solved though. The only way to avoid this as far as I know is to run both matches at the same time, something we can't do. I doubt this will be an issue in our tournament, since players are also playing for tips as well as wins. You don't encourage viewers to tip you if you throw games. I understand that playing both groups at the same time is not feasible, another alternative, and one to consider in the future may be having a separate small prize for winning your group. In this manner, throwing a game to get an opponent you're more comfortable against, would cost you a potential 50-150 dollars. This would force players to weight their options much more carefully, a confirmed bonus for winning, or a potentially easier opponent that they could still lose to. The tips should help in this situation regardless, but I don't know if I would personally withhold tipping a player myself if they threw a game so they could have a better chance at the whole tournament, I'd probably be understanding to why they did it.
Of course not everyone will turn against a player that purposefully throw a game to get a better opponent, but I think it's pretty safe to say that that would be the case in general.

Both of them have already been in a SCI before so don't think we'll see them in this one unfortunately

White-Ra Appeared in SCi1 & SCi3 so it seems perfectly reasonable for players to make multiple appearances, although I think Nerchio has already done two, on account of attending the first one and receiving a runner-up invite for SCi2, so I doubt we'll see him.
I remember Intricacy mentioning in the thread for SCi3 that an EG member had ‘already confirmed themselves for SCi4’. To me the most likely player this could be would be DeMuslim or Strifecro (I guess Machine is also a possibility). Unfortunately this was a while ago now (August/September last year?) so it’s most likely plans have changed, but as I said earlier I’m still holding out for DeMuslim, pleeeeaaaassssseeee!

Keeping with the theme of former wc3 players, im am hoping to see stephano, nani and demuslim.

So hyped for this tournament, thank you bizzcuit

SCI3 was the "viewer's choice" type of thing, that's why White-Ra was there. I don't see him making an appearance. While he's a great player, he rarely performs great in tournaments. Sort of like Destiny.
That being said, this being a "serious" tournament (and not the viewer's choice that 3 was), I wouldn't be against seeing a "struggling player" tossed in for a hope to shine. Like Tyler.

I'm a fan of both, don't get me wrong, but there seems to be enough issues between the two that they'd, by choice, try to steer clear of each other. Which makes me sad, because I think TB on SotG would be awesome. incontrol and TB dont have bad blood now from what i understand

10 AM GMT, isn't that like in the middle of the night in America?
I don't mind as a german viewer, but i think especially as an american player i would not like this at all.

Not really true. He hasn't apologised for any of the earlier slander and until that happens I won't have anything to do with him.

Needless to say, we will not be scheduling American players to play early, so that won't be a problem.

The EG player confirmed for SCI4 was HuK. This was when SCI4 was billed as the KR-server tournament, however that was several months ago and the plans did not come together.

Ermm yeah, quite. White-ra is beating top players all the time, both online and in LANs. He isn't winning major tournaments right now but then again, few people actually are.

TB, I will now starve myself until you release another player name. I had a big breakfast but I'm probably going to be a bit peckish in a few hours and do you really want that on your conscience?
