ZenexYong was #1 grandmaster on the Korean server and he's currently...oh wait, he didn't make it past Code A qualifiers.

Well you're obviously wrong, since the only terrans who have dominated in the past are the absolute best Koreans, and no, it's not because foreign terrans are bad players compared to their protoss and zerg counterparts LOL. It's just that the micro and multitasking required to get the most out of terran is very, very intensive. Something only the absolute best players in the scene have.

Well then let's say to Master. There are very few people right now that can make Terran work on the hightest level especially in TvP. And even they kinda struggle with TvP right now i would say.

Check Nestea's ladder record. Now check his record in staged games. There we go. Now please shut up.

Even as a zerg player, I'm stoked to see Protoss advancing. (:

Nooo July!
This was your tourney to win T_T
Does anybody knows how many GSLs July has left before military service?
|
Yay a good day :D
edit:
Lol 1 day of tosses who have survived the culling of the last few months and we're being a little too optimistic. Look at who has been eliminated so far. Also note what gom did with the maps for Toss. Lets not get overexcited kids. Everyone was optimistic after Orlando and then the next set of tournaments corrected that misperception.

All the races had a foreigner palyer do well at some point during sc2 life (Jinro, Nani, Idra, Huk, ThorZain, Sen ecc.) but none of them was dominating the scene. The only one dominating the scene for a period where always Korean payers and I don't think we can argue about that. Yes I agree that Terran requires more multitasking but I still think that is not the hardest race to play.

Very nice day in GSL for me.
Way to go HuK :p

So all protoss in the Ro32 advanced? Awesome sauce.
But wait! Only 3 zerg in the Ro16! If none of them advance, zerg will be UP again. Because that's how it works, right? We look at the incredibly tiny sample of GSL Code S and make sweeping balance statements based on those results and those results alone, with everything else being dismissed as not being the highest level of play and therefore completely irrelevant?

All Protoss players were dominating what would you call it.

What? Out of 5 P in the Ro32, 5 made it to the Ro16. That is not < 1/3. Unless you mean that Protoss represents less than 1/3 of the racial distribution in the Ro16, but if that's the case, why phrase it so obtusely? Also, if that is the case 3 doesn't divide into 16 evenly. The best you can hope for is a 6 / 5 / 5 spread; there will always be at least one race comprising < 1/3 of the Ro16.
Also, to reiterate, every Protoss left has advanced out of their groups. What is it that compels you whine about the balance here?
This is also relevant:

Seriously. This game is over a year old. Maybe it's time we stop blaming racial imbalance every time we see results we don't like? No problems get solved by screaming 'EMP is bullshit,' or 'Nerf OP ass fungal,' or 'cheesy toss so broken.' We should all be focusing on why someone actually lost, what they did wrong, how they could have played out a situation differently, how they could have macro'd or controlled better, made better decisions, etc.

The foreign Zergs and Protoss players have much more success than foreign terrans, thats all you need to know.

Watching the games from last night, it really seems like huk and killer are serious contenders to win this season. It feels good to have a foreign player at the same relative level that jinro and idra were way back when they were both in GSL.

Ugh what the hell was July doing? Very disappointing games from him and DongRaeGu this GSL.

Apparently some people will not be happy unless a protoss gets so good that he is able to reverse time and cause there to be more protoss in the Ro32.
Like...the 19 terrans in the Ro32 were leftovers from previous seasons in which the format meant a ridiculously small number of players dropped from Code S and therefore realigning the racial imbalance was going to take months and months. Seriously, who looks at this GSL thus far, sees EVERY protoss advance and still says 'well they aren't doing that well, there's only 5 in the Ro16'.

I got all excited to see who would be in the Ro16, and then I saw the groups. There will be blood.
Group A Nestea MMA Huk Leenock
Group B Happy Oz Killer Alive
Group C MC sC Puzzle Ganzi
Group D Gumiho Coca Jjakjii MVP
I felt like the groups in the Ro32 didn't have a super clear group of death, but the Ro16 sure as hell does.
Edit: If Huk can beat MMA, It will be Nestea/Huk, otherwise Nestea/MMA advance. Group B: Happy and Oz, Group C: MC and Puzzle (pretty please :D), and Group D: MVP and Coca.

Ladder is pretty much useless for players at Nestea's level, especially when their in-house practice partners are MVP and Losira. Hell, his teammate MVP plays random on ladder. They don't actually care.
