You are kidding right? DRG is only technically code B. He is incredibly good having beaten MLG Champion MMA, foreigner hero (lolol) huk. Infact I cant think of a televised game that DRG lost since the GSTL final loss again MMA.

DRG also lost 2 matches to sCfOu in June in the finals of a tournament that was broadcasted before the Polt vs. MMA finals. That comes with the caveat that he won the series 3-2 against one of the scariest TvZ players in the world.

Those two matches plus his loss to MMA in GSTL May are his only televised losses before losing game 2 to Huk. I'm not sure how many games he's won during all of that, but it has to be at least 25, as I think he won 2-3 in each of the GSTL May series, 3 against sC, 6 today, 3 in the latest GSTL match against SlayerS, and probably more that I'm forgetting.

Code B or no, his televised game resume would have to put him third in the world among Zergs, behind the two guys playing the GSL finals tonight.

while his ZvT has certainly been proved to be top class (some even say better than nestea's), his ZvP hasn't really been examined on televised matches... so I definitely think it's too early to say he's third in the world.

I hope for a Grand Final that matters, so 2 players who want the CodeS Spot. MMA vs DRG would be awesome, they both are in "CodeB" but have shown skill in the past. MVP would be a bad winner, he has won like ~200.000$ in Prizemoney and would laugh about the 5k for MLG.

DRG isn't mediocre.

He's code B, failed to qualify for Code A multiple times. Call it what you want, call him better than all foreigners, but in Korea hes just okay

It's best to know what you are talking about before you speak. He won lg super tourney, beating scs godly tvz with his even more godly zvt, and all killed ogs and goes nuts in gstl. Look at puma dominating when he didn't have much success either in some Korean tournaments.

Drg is only behind nestea when it comes to top world zerg

You really think Losira wouldn't have destroyed Naniwa and Huk just as hard?

Well losira did dominate naniwa and would huk. His zvt is not as god mode as drgs though. Losira is my hero zerg anyway I almost exclusively studied him to learn zvp ^^ but drg and nestea probably edge him just a bit

Rankings wise I'd say

Losira:
ZvP = 10/10
ZvZ = 9/10
ZvT = 7/10

DRG
ZvP = 8/10
ZvT = 10/10
ZvZ = Not played enough to say.

So theoretically DRG is as good if not better than Losira, but fact is Losira is a Code A winner and a Code S finalist, so Losira takes it because results really do matter.

Although I agree, his victories over HuK, Naniwa, and MC show he is moving in the right direction.

Hmm yeah losiras zvt is actually pretty awesome when you consider he chose and beat mkp, so it's probably higher than 7/10. Drgs zvz is supposed to be boss though... His zvt is probably 11/10 haha, some of those games against sc he just recovers so well from being behind.

So Tyler plays the winner of Veritus/edge702, both Terrans. If he wins that, he plays the winner of Axslav/Inka, both Protosses.

Meanwhile, it's Jinro vs Sonkie, both Terrans, and if Jinro wins he plays the winner of OptikZero/Choya, both Protosses.

If Tyler and Jinro win out, they play each other and the winner goes into the championship pool.

If Tyler is the winner of his bracket quadrant, he is rewarded by having to play three of his teammates, Naniwa and Donraegu.

Only at MLG.

Thing is Losira's ZvT is probably the fourth best in the world after Nestea, DRG and July. It's just he's virtually unbeatable in ZvP and sick good in ZvZ so it seems weak by comparison.

Ya I can't believe people predicted he wouldn't dominate his group. He's constantly owned foreign players in the NASL, was obvious the same would happen here.

I have to admit I doubted he would defeat Idra because, as good as Boxer's micro is, it seems like his macro often falters if the game gets past around 15 mins or so (falls behind on worker count, doesn't take 3rd/4th bases fast enough, etc.).

I only saw his matches against Idra, but he's a smart guy, so I wouldn't be surprised if he identified the weaknesses in his game and has worked on them heavily.

The pool is seeded by MLG point values so that's an irrelevant complaint; a team kill in the final round of the open bracket hardly seems unreasonable; are you maybe complaining that Jinro's road seems harder?(again, because Tyler is the #1 seeded open bracket player because it also has MLG point values that come into play).

It's more that MLG is a magnet for team kills. OWBR4 has two FXO team kills, Optik/Choya and QXC/Slog. They seem to happen much more frequently at MLG, outside of maybe OGS in the GSL.

It's to be expected that Liquid has so many team kills with how awesome they are.

The post started as information, but then veered off when I remembered that the top ranked open player goes into Pool A.
