How is any of that relevant? If suddenly Wemadefox gets 4 NA players in the roster it becomes a North American team because their sc2 team has majority americans?
FCPorto won the Europa league with more brazilians than portuguese players in their team. Doesn't stop them from being a Portuguese team.

Then I would have no problem with them being in the North American qualifier for the league either. Which is what this is about, friend.

That's because that team is specifically based around the city of Porto, in sports where the name of the team comes from the location of it's base, it's kind of different from Starcraft where this is not the case.
Also, yes if WeMadeFox because majority North American, then I would likely consider them a North American team provided those players still intended to base themselves outside of NA. Discounting this Korea trip, which is just that for a number of their players, a trip for training and exposure purposes, the majority of their team is based out of North America and competes regularly in North American events.
There is no strict measure for regional attribution in Starcraft 2 when it comes to teams that have players spread all over the globe, I'd say basing it on the region of the majority of their roster is quite fair.

If you say FXO is an NA team based on the majority of the players or an Australian team based on where it was based/founded it wouldn't really matter because both options obviously fit in the NA qualifier. Remember all Australian (SEA) SC2 accounts include access to the NA server.

OMG, I hope Empire takes the crap out of this one. Can't really see their line-up losing matches to some of the American teams like Checksix and ItsGosu.

Yeah Empire is a pretty tough team, but they won't be matched up with the NA teams

wow only 1 team from each? if two guns were put to my head and i had to choose i'd say alternate (although empire is just as close) and FXO (although reign is just as close)
too hard to solidly predict one team to win their group!

Empire and FXOpen fighting!

Honestly I don't know who can take out Empire lol. Kas/Happy/Beastyqt/Nerchio is an extremely tough lineup to beat. they also have a dedicated 2v2 team so they can win that too xD
EDIT: Too bad naniwa left the team lol, that would literally be almost an impossible team to win against.

I really hope Alternate is going to make it.

I think realistically Shadow is the only one that can steal games from teams like mouz and EG.
Quick question, why didn't teamliquid get the invite or did they respectfully decline?

too hard to solidly predict one team to win their group! I dunno about alternate, the only really good players are Socke and Delphi, but Empire has Kas, Happy AND Nerchio or Beastyqt

Liquid didn't agree on the "all games on NA" rule, so they chose note to participate in the first season, I guess that this is still valid.
I also think that Millenium didn't apply again because of that, seeing how their players often complained about the lag.

It's not very practical assembling players at all these different time zones.
