I doubt a lot of pro players are very amused with what IdrA did. Boxer is basically the man that made it possible for them to be progamers and IdrA did his usual emotional ragequitting against him when he GG'd against everyone else (even Zenio).

Taiwan has mandatory 1-year military service for all males. They are talking about possibly abolishing this in the near future though.

To think Daigo was winning tournaments in 3-4 different fighting games at the same time is unthinkable. I thought Daigo was a SF specialist and wasn't considered top tier in other fighting games? Has he been tearing it up in MvC lately? OT but I think this is better than the current dross of a discussion going on in LR.
Around 2004 he was owning peoples souls in Guilty Gear #Reload, 3rd Strike, SF 2, and Capcom vs SNK 2. He also made the rest of the world start playing A-ism Akuma in Alpha 3...then switched to Ryu.

he is not the best foreigner anymore.. Thorzain is. LOL Nothing like selective stats, right? I agree that Thorzain is awesome, for the record. But really, you picking some of IdrA's losses and ignoring all his wins is rather ridiculous.
not to mention, those losses are mostly to koreans, as motbob pointed out. use of that list is rly stupid if it's meant to show that idra isn't the best foreigner.

Honestly I'm guessing Idra through those games just to screw over Zenio. He wasn't getting a playoff spot anyways
Nothing is wrong with me. I've been playing Broodwar since 1998 and some things in Starcraft are just uncalled for. IdrA is good, yeah, but what a joke. He should know better than this.
I'm mainly pissed because I know that this doesn't do anything good for foreign reception from Koreans, being that I just moved back from Seoul and know how they receive disrespect. Seems like a small, useless gesture, but it's not in Starcraft. It was pathetic from Greg and I hate being associated with it because I'm American. Ask a few of my friends like Rekrul, Day9, Xeris, Kawaii, or Grrr... I'm sure they'd all GG. Boxer is manner.

Lol why are people complaining that two rax opening with a bunker = cheese? It is a pretty standard opening nowadays against Zerg.

I actually like Idra. But not gg'ing the Emperor earned him over 9,000 douche points.

I really never understood why Americans wanted Idra to be the face of SC2. Watching American movies, I thought the American hero usually had a lot of heart and fighting spirit. Idra is basically anti all that. Worse of all is that Korean article describing Idra's "cool" demeanour. They already know Idra is raging inside, why does he even bother to act cool and emotionless.

The hero in american movies is what we are not. They're movies.
Am I the only one that is unsurprised both by IdrA and the communities reaction?
Also, does anyone think that BoxeR cares? Did he act like IdrA was a serious challenge?

The only reason is due to his abilities. But he really doesn't have the intangibles needed to be a great champion (mental toughness, determination, sportsmanship etc.). At best, Idra is what he is right now, a polarizing love-em or hate-em type of player.

So happy ^_^
Geez, the above posts are full of red ink... Let's keep it civil folks.

I'm confused. When did GG not signify good game? Pretty sure Idra has stated before and i'm of the same opinion; if he feels the games weren't good, why would he say otherwise? Can't believe people are making a fuss over this.

Not saying gg to boxer is the equivalent of having Barack Obama come to shake your hand and giving him the finger instead.
Some find it funny, others find it extremely disrespectful.

gg doesnt mean good game anymore literally. It is a sign of respect between gamers. In this case it is Boxer who should have been given the respect he deserves in the form of a gg. Idra should know better.

What this guy said, gg has transcended it's literal meaning. It's now mostly used as a sign of respect(exception being bm offensive gg's) and Idra knows this. Yet he still chooses to bm and disrespect people. And to do it to The Emperor? That's just not cool and Idra deserves all the hate he's getting for it.

Lol typical mindset of following what IdrA says. Yes that is his explanation for why he does things, does that mean it's true? People make a big fuss over it because IdrA is basically the only one who acts this way whereas his followers seem to act like nobody else GGs either. IdrA is the only person who rage quits like this.
Kespa would pretty much rip your head off if you didn't specifically say 'gg''. It means a lot more in the pro scene than "wow chap that was an excellent encounter, let's do it again sometime!" no matter what IdrA claims. It's a respectful acknowledgement of defeat and IdrA never wants to do it. People try to mystify it into some bad boy "going against the norm" when he's just being childish. He doesn't want to say GG because he would rather just ragequit and forget the game ever happened, then mumble about how he's clearly the superior player but blahblahblah imba blahblahblah game design. And to not do it against Boxer, who is the most important figure in Starcraft history? Lolol. After all the time he spent in Korea he should know EXACTLY what kind of reaction he'd receive for not GGing Boxer but he still couldn't find it in himself to type those two letters, because he just has no respect.
