Piracy. Greed. They're a business. Their raison d'etre is to make money. Exactly. Ruining their own product is not a good way to make money. It's, in fact, bad business. Maybe. I think they know more about business than you though. You are inevitably biased, as LAN would be good for you and not bad in any way. It's not that simple for Blizzard. LAN would result in massive Hamachi piracy and lost sales, without a doubt.
That said I agree that the lack of some sort of tournament edition is simply a very poor decision.

Major Lag Gaming. The casters are amazing trying to keep us entertained for this long.

3 short games in 3 hours since the stream started. After the disaster from yesterday this is ridiculous.
MLG is beginning to be another word for "joke", "failure".

Your lack of Lan, a completely necessary tool required for the success of eSPORTS and tournaments, is now RUINING games. Please implement a fucking lan so you don't ruin the scene you are trying to "promote." Seriously, this is highlighting a MAJOR flaw with your game development. I understgand that you don't want people playing with ripped versions of Starcraft 2 cause you guys really need the money it generates, but how about you distribute copies, to everyone who buys a tournament license, that have lan capabilities. You still get your safety from hackers/rippers, but you give the scene something they have been begging for since the beta: LAN.
Thanks, Someone who actually likes eSPORTS despite you trying to kill them while saying "we are promoting them!" GOMTV doesn't have this problem. U mad that MLG can't compete? GSL is in south korea, with the fastest and most advanced internet in the world blizzard is trying to promote e-sports in the west, where we have shitty internet, by FORCING us to play it with internet.
sorry but the only west with this kind of shitty internet is the USA...

Should have been a regame. It was LOTS of lag...

Im so happy that I didn't buy the HD streaming / VOD pass.

No games played since Grubby's pause fest? (Left for an hour or so)

During the GSTL we had crashes constantly. It happens all the time. I don't actually mind that for some reason. The PCs crashing is okay, it happens. This is just bad quality laggy stream and even lagging in-game making it impossible to play, GSTL just delayed it.

Judging from TL's twitter, it looks like all games are having lag spikes. Meanwhile dde says "no lag here" when clearly their are problems....
Edit: they should have regamed in the first place. And no JP, its Toss...

so how long are they gonna wait now before continuing with the series?
|
omg they're still talking??
|
well guys time for another 2 hour break till next game.

It makes me sooooo sad the harm events like this do to the potential future of eSports. I know if I were an investor it would put me off big time, thus far this event has done more harm then good for the cause.

A dark weekend for esports this is.

This has to be the worst major tournament I've ever seen. Wow, MLG needs to throw in the towel and get out of esports.

Err, correct me if I'm wrong but isn't it possible for one player/several obs to have spikes and one player be lagless? couldnt be possible there cos' the internet comes from one place so Ping = same lag =same Maybe. Either way I don't think anyone should judge dde without actually seeing it from his perspective. There's a chance he didn't lag, no reason to jump to conclusions.
