Players such as Jinro, HuK, and Adelscott did not apply for this tour, so don't ask why they aren't on this list. DIMAGA, Kas, and LaLush turned applications in late so they will not appear either. Please take some time to learn who exactly applied. Please inform yourself about who applied and who didn't. |
Oh great, another round of average. I thought somebody said today's 5 are going to be exciting.
NASL - taking Star out of Starleague? =/

Yeah, IEM where everybody played bad. The whole tournament was painful to watch.
Ace is actually better than he was at IEM, and that's still not that good (relative to top Koreans).

i live in orange county, CA and i was hoping to see my favorite player like july zerg or nestea in NASL finals.... sigh

Many big named participants have already been released, only 2 more days of this and I imagine the biggest names are yet to come!

which is a legitimately top level game on it's own. This will be an excellent tournament, but it won't be GSL, and I'm not sure why people expected it to be. Inviting Grubby and Artosis was a great idea and I hope they get plenty of practice in before it starts!

Wow, sjow is really making a buck or two.

So which foreigners are missing ? Ret, Morrow, Thorzain and Dimaga and I guess someone else which leaves 5 spots for Koreans: MC, July, Boxer, Nestea and and someone else :O

Perfect for someone who doesn't have the time to watch all of the games.
Actually, the only guy who could make a legitimate argument against the player lineup would be the guy who wants to watch all the 275 games. >_>
Honestly, I think Drewbie and Painuser is a great match-up. But I see what you were trying to say, just don't agree with this example lol

Seeing that the goal is to attract as many people as possible, inviting Grubby was just logical. It's a completely different story for nonames like ViBE though. Just because you don't know much about someone doesn't mean they're a no name... Are you implying ViBE has a following that would justify his invitation into NASL? I highly question this. I'm not denying people already heard of him, but what matters is the ability to excite people. Seeing Grubby play will excite approximately 2000 times as many people as seeing ViBE play. No, that's not an exaggeration, but an actual number. I'm implying that just because someone doesn't have a stream that has thousands of people watch doesn't mean that they aren't skilled enough to be in the league. Both the players from nrg have proven to be good enough in the various clan leagues they've played in. So like I said, just because YOU haven't heard of them doesn't mean they're a no name. It's not about skill. It's about marketability. I don't know how you could not realize that this is what I am talking about if you read my posts. Grubby gets people excited to watch him, he'd even do it if he was bronze-league-skilled. ViBE could have the best mechanics in the world, it's irrelevant.

i hope Minigun makes it in. He should be a shoe-in based on recent tournament wins actually. At least he is much better than some that are already in the list achievement wise.
Finished 2nd and 1st in the root gaming tournaments over a lot of very good people.
Ret and Morrow should be a lock. Mondragon seems like he is quite in shape and i hope he is in. That leaves 5 or 6 Koreans maybe. Boxer Nada for sure. July MC

Well i think the most koreans withdraw cause of lag at NA server. Lets hope it will get better in coming month.
Also division 2 is the weakest. Swap socke for cruncher and it would be perfect.

Yes! I feel the same. Excellent teamwork there and thank you guys for helping me prove a point - even if you deliberately try and pick out perceived "weaker" matchups, they're still great from an objective perspective because the overall level of the lineup is so good already.

What? Dimaga missed the headline? Seriously, im going to be sad, he cant participate in TSL 3, and if i wont see him in NASL either.... ((
btw on a related note to the discussion above, Grubby reached the finals of a Craftcup yesterday, so hopefully he starts producing real results soon

Err you would hope it is about both; TLO getting sponsored is not about skill that is about marketability.. but player invites to a massive INVITATIONAL tournament has to be about both; you cannot ignore skill..

Yes, logical to announce in the last 10 players - three times as many koreans as have been announced so far. Good analysis.
