[NASL] Players (final) - Page 107

Players such as Jinro, HuK, and Adelscott did not apply for this tour, so don't ask why they aren't on this list. DIMAGA, Kas, and LaLush turned applications in late so they will not appear either. Please take some time to learn who exactly applied.

Please inform yourself about who applied and who didn't.

Calling the following koreans, they will DEFINETELY be in if NASL knows anything about good PR and wants more viewers:

1. BoxeR
2. Nada
3. July
4. MC
5. Fruitdealer

I believe all of them have applied.

I feel like Minigun is better than some of those in there, but those games will be sick to watch.

I wanted to wait with my "overall" QQ until the final list is revealed, but I completely agree that minigun should be in there. Just a small "race by race" comparison of invited to currently non-invited players, LEAVING OUT korean players.

Protoss:

invited:
Artosis, Grubby, Axslav

Not invited so far:
Nightend (TSL-participant), Minigun

Terran:

invited:
Fenix, Stalife, Kawaii

Not invited so far:
Demuslim, Thorzain (TSL-participant)

Zerg:

invited:
Sheth, Vibe, Machine

Not invited so far:
Ret, Morrow (if they are not among the last 10 a kitten will die for sure), LaLush

Keep in mind all of the invites went out before the TSL was broadcasted, I don't know if they got advance knowledge of the results, but if not, they had no idea how the TSL went. I too seriously hope Minigun dimaga and demuslim get in, but at least we got Moon Grubby in group a!

Edit: Can't believe I forgot Mondi. After seeing him in TSL, I'm an instant fan.

I really can't see them overlooking July, BoxeR, NaDa, MC and maybe a couple of other koreans. Having them not only boosts the overall credibility but exponentially increases the interest from all over the world.

Also, I expect to see names like Thorzain, Ret, MorroW..etc included in the final 10.

As far as I know Kas didn't apply (yes, I was also really surprised) and Dimaga missed the deadline, so it would be his fault if they didn't consider him.

I think their main gripe is that more skilled and accomplished players (specifically koreans) have been (or looks like) overlooked for guys like Grubby, vibe...etc

I'm pretty sure there is a huge difference between the most accomplished European WC3 pro-gamer and a player who's never been into the spotlight at all before the NASL. Seeing that the goal is to attract as many people as possible, inviting Grubby was just logical. It's a completely different story for nonames like ViBE though.

Just because you don't know much about someone doesn't mean they're a no name...

Are you implying ViBE has a following that would justify his invitation into NASL? I highly question this. I'm not denying people already heard of him, but what matters is the ability to excite people. Seeing Grubby play will excite approximately 2000 times as many people as seeing ViBE play. No, that's not an exaggeration, but an actual number.

I'm implying that just because someone doesn't have a stream that has thousands of people watch doesn't mean that they aren't skilled enough to be in the league. Both the players from nrg have proven to be good enough in the various clan leagues they've played in. So like I said, just because YOU haven't heard of them doesn't mean they're a no name.

It's not about skill. It's about marketability. I don't know how you could not realize that this is what I am talking about if you read my posts. Grubby gets people excited to watch him, he'd even do it if he was bronze-league-skilled. ViBE could have the best mechanics in the world, it's irrelevant.

Err you would hope it is about both; TLO getting sponsored is not about skill that is about marketability.. but player invites to a massive INVITATIONAL tournament has to be about both; you cannot ignore skill..

Of course it should be about skill as well, I fully agree. I was only referring to the difference between a player like Grubby and a player like ViBE because I feel that those are two completely different things.

One the one hand that is true, it is these players (or their teams) own fault.

But on the other NASL said they have also contacted players themselves that they wanted in the league. Now I seriously wonder, who did they contact if not the best terran and the best zerg in europe? Really strange.
Guess it would have been different if these 2 would not have been from eastern europe.
Same with Bratok btw, who nearly would not have been in either.

I like Morrow, but Sen and probably Dimaga are better.

Also I am 99% sure he will be in.

Thorzain might not be in. He definitely has the skill, but he has been making a name for himself just very recently.
He should have played more tournaments. If he had done so he would have made it in easily, so it would be kind of his own fault.

Yup, that's it. No more people are going to be announced. They decided to go ahead with only 40 people instead of 50 because the feedback they got was so positive.

Lets hope it will get better in coming month.

Also division 2 is the weakest.
Swap socke for cruncher and it would be perfect.

You do realise Cruncher took out oGsInca in the FXOpen2 last week, and + Show Spoiler +
beat Idra in the TSL3
On current form he's probably the strongest player in that group.

He is actually good, no worries man.

He has been only in some lower profile NA tournaments, but has done incredible in them
