Yeah, and performing under pressure > performing at home, in my book, by a mile.
+ Show Spoiler +Yea but it doesn't make it any less rediculous that some ppl in here are trying to take away from ThorZain's win over MC because it wasn't "LAN"

they really weren't played at the same time. i mean, i watched copenhagen into tsl into final copenhagen and lost only grubby vs morrow series, and half of the finals game one.

there is but they're not gonna show them. khaldor's camera setup can only shows his casting area for some reason.

Khaldor looks like the anti-type of a gamer but he's probably top 3 best casters around for me. Really nice casting today!

Look at nada he plays so much worse in online tournaments then LANS, he was a beast in the gsl against MKP this week, but then you look how he played against kas in the TSL, he gets his expansion up at the same time as kas, but gets 11 scv's behind , he gets 40 supply behind with no engagements, even against dde his economy was terrible he just made good decisions.
Then you see him in gsl games, his economy and economy management is probably one of the best in the world.
I dont place much stock in online tournaments and i probably never will, thats just how i feel about it.

Both are valid forms of competition as long as lag is not a factor, imo, and since in SC 2 there is no "LAN mode" lag is not really a factor when played from the same region. If you are going to judge validity only by LANs then the Koreans would probably always be better because their entire competitive scene happens pretty much on LANs whereas the NA/Euro scene necessarily has to happen online most of the times.

Copenhagen games has been successful with SC2, especially a big thanks to Khaldor and the co-casters to bringing such a great joy and energy to the tournament ! Khaldor and Mana ftw :D

There have been tons of EU lans as of recent. Im not saying its not a valid form of competition, but if a player beats someone from home , then comes out to a tournament and gets destroyed, im not going to think hes better just because he can beat someone fromm the comfort of his own home but then gets crumbled under pressure.
Its like competitive sports, cool your the best goalie in the world in your garage and can stop shots fromm all the best players, but on the rink in front of the world you get dominated, no one is going to think your the best goalie in the world .....
If you want to prove your one of the best you have to showcase it in front of people. How do i know you dont maphack from home? or streamhack? (Im not accusing anyone of anything but its still something to note) come to a lan in front of everyone and prove yourself among the best players in the world in a live tournament and you will gain my respect (kas for instance did that he got 2nd at a pretty big lan after having mostly online wins, and although he lost terribly to MC hes still a great player)

Why isnt there a live ceremony T_T.

+ Show Spoiler +Well Mc had a bit of an off day against Thorzain, not in micro but decision making. I don't know why he never did his 6gate sentry heavy push. I pretty sure Thorzain would have had a very tough time against with his fast upgrades. You can see how effective it is against Kas. And I didn't see any big mistakes by kas in that game. He defenetly should have put a 6 gate push or 2 in there, thorzains builds prepare him really well for the late mid game to late game, a push coming in at the early mid game would have given him lots of trouble i think.
