Zerg through, 15. Terran through, 12. Protoss through, 5. Zerg out, 3. Terran out, 4. Protoss out, 5. Numbers dont always speak for themselves, but what with recent results in tournaments i think theres a slight race issue.

I'm assuming he didn't qualify but it'd be nice to have that clear on the page or the "centralized database" There's a day1 thread somewhere, check that. However I know for sure that Kiwi and Artosis both failed to qualify.

I think he'll continue to do poorly next year and be one of the first players to get knocked out of S-Class. It's surprisingly easy to NOT qualify for the GSL. Seeing as he does have S-class, we'll be seeing more of him eventually and THEN we can judge him. Unless you saw his qualifier matches, I don't think you safely say he played poorly at all... Amen. Nada, Inca, Tester, Ensnare, TOP, all gone. Clearly qualifying isn't that easy. What's depressing is that of 64 players to qualify, only 12 are protoss. Including two of the best Korean Protoss (Inca/Tester) and two of the best foreign protosses (HuK and Kiwikaki) don't qualify. I hate balance arguments, and I've often complained that the talent pool for Protoss is lower- but at this point, I'm not sure anymore. It's not surprising to me that Roaches get a buff, and zerg dominates the next qualifiers (27 zergs qualify, compared to 23 terran and 12 protoss). Sadly, the imba arguments are starting to get some weight behind them imo. I hate imba complaints but I wish there was more protoss players ![]() scrapstation is such a zerg favored map, I wouldn't be shocked if it added a few zerg players to the player pool.

Yea, and that only makes your argument weaker, since Zerg was the least played but had the highest win %. First off, I wasn't arguing anything in terms of race, just that this is a poor statistic to use to prove anything because we don't know anything about match-ups, or anything about the players that were there. So why you are even saying "ZERG" in response to what I said I do not know. Stop trying to make everything about balance when I'm actually avoiding that topic and just stating why this is a poor use of statistical data to prove anything based on the information we know. So don't call me out on something I never said nor was talking about. If this was the 1500 best players, organized in a way that attempted to distribute races evenly throughout the brackets based on race we'd have some really good data. It isn't, it is 1500 random people, the skill level at this thing is all over the place. We don't know if 200 people signed up to play that were bronze level toss players. We don't know if of the middle 150 players that signed up and eliminated some people they mostly played zerg. It is a small, poor sample size based on what we are talking about. All we really see/hear about are roughly 100 names worth of players we know and care about. We know nothing about the other 1400 players. Being that pro players tend to roll through their qualifiers like they are nothing often not even losing a match has me believing that there are some pretty bad players at these things just going to have some fun and give it a shot. I'm not about to make assertions of race balance because some hack visiting Korea decides to play some SC2.

Idra: Good job qualifying. I almost went to bed when Gom reported you lost, but I stayed up until it I learned it was an error. Woke up to the win. Huk: Keep your head up. You're the only one who practices as hard as I think a progamer should (sans Idra). Haypro: You were due. Jinro: You're getting to be somebody. I remember flaming your passive PVT, now you're a pro! Wow.

At least Boxer and Vealsteak (lol) made it. As for Team Liquid 3 players qualified is a big success I would say.

The good news is guys, in each of the first 2 GSLs, the least represented race ended up winning. For Aiur!

Usually i don't like him (cause he plays terran, duh), but today i was rooting for him as much as i did for IdrA and the other popular zerg players. I can not understand how select could fail to qualify...his performance lately was so incredibly solid, maybe not "the" best of the best, but when it comes down to qualifying where nerves play a big part I would've surely guessed his strong, solid standard-play would get him through. Especially when thinking about how many weak terrans we saw last season, select is easily better than about 50% of them.

Seems a little bit like HuK's on a fall from grace. Actually I think the GSLs that will be next year just means he wont be seeded, so hell either have to face seeded players to qualify as well as having to play any new comers who could be ex bw pros etc You are wrong. You should probably not comment if you have no idea what you are talking about. The outline for next years tournaments has been laid out and the GSL will no longer be an open tournament. There wil be an open A tournament and a S-class tournament. So yeah he can still qualify for the A tournament. Then the top A of fight the bottom S for S-class. something like that. No, it isn't an open A tournament. To qualify for a chance to play in the A tournament you have to be at the top of the ladder (and not in one of the other designations already). So it is clearly very different than the open GSL that was played this year. Since the Korean Ladder is "open", I don't see any difference in qualifying via the ladder compared to qualifying through these Season 1 to 3 qualifiers, but that's just nitpicking. If you don't agree with that you should just give a more detailed answer that actually helps and therefore contribute something to the discussion instead of being rude with your unnecessary comment.
