Surely somebody who made it through the loser bracket already had to win more games than the winner bracket finalist, why not put the players on even footing in the grand final? But I am curious, had Kiwi been knocked into the loser bracket by someone other than HuK, then made it to the finals against HuK, would he still have to win 4 games? No it would've been 0-0. This is called extended series, meaning there had to be a history in the tourney already

Huk has NEVER lost a match, whereas Kiwikaki has already gotten his "single elimination" to the loser's bracket. How unfair would it be that Huk only gets one elimination, but Kiwikaki gets two? Each player gets to lose one match(i.e. 2 games in a single match). Huk has never lost one yet, Kiwi already has. Thus, Kiwi is already one "elimination" behind Huk in this "double elimination" tournament. Use your brain, it would be totally unfair any other way. But... that makes too much sense!!!

This is a DOUBLE elimination tournament. A player has to be eliminated TWICE to lose. It's actually more safe for pro players to play double elimination because in it at least they have a second chance. Regularly, HuK would have Bo5'd Kiwi and that would have been the end of it, and with a 2-1 advantage in a Bo5, he's in a stronger position than a 2-1 in a Bo7. Therefore, if Socke (for example), had made it to HuK, they'd play a Bo3. If HuK lost, Socke would play HuK in a second Bo3 (because he's only been eliminated once). I can't believe people are QQing about double elimination. Have you guys seen tournaments before?

Dude, think about what you're saying. That would mean Kiwi would need to win four games, and Huk only two. THAT'S EXACTLY THE CURRENT SITUATION. People, brains, please. In the 2 BO3 scenario, Huk could win 1 game in each BO3 each but lose the series (2 wins total), but if he wins 2 games in the BO7 he wins. Not the same.

I guess SC players are too used to the single elim format.

You lose, you should be out. Bo3 single elimination is the best, finals you can do Bo5. Gom's Intel Classic format if you need an example. Worked really well and each final the best player won so the best should still be at the end giving you the best possible final. Already being handicapped in the final game is a huge mental block and definitely not good.
