Why are you all saying that Huk has a 2-0 advantage ? He won by 2-1 so that is the score from which the bo7 starts.

I think a handicapped final is not the ideal competition to end a tournament. Surely somebody who made it through the loser bracket already had to win more games than the winner bracket finalist, why not put the players on even footing in the grand final?

But I am curious, had Kiwi been knocked into the loser bracket by someone other than HuK, then made it to the finals against HuK, would he still have to win 4 games?

Have none of you actually watched a double-elim tournament before? The "Losers' bracket" is a second chance, why should someone who already lost once have an equal chance against someone who has gone undefeated?

Edit: Because Huk is the one who knocked Kiwikaki to the Losers' it's an extended series. If someone else had knocked kiwikaki down - kiwikaki would have to win 2 bo3s compared to Huk only having to win 1.

Unless they've changed their rules or I'm completely forgetting how the series went, Kiwi will be down 1 game to 2. Not 0 - 2. The previous score carries over, not simply a 2 game advantage.

They already have played one bo3, and MLG has decided (reasonably) that having them play two more is overkill.

Dude, think about what you're saying. That would mean Kiwi would need to win four games, and Huk only two.

THAT'S EXACTLY THE CURRENT SITUATION.

People, brains, please.

That's what a BO7 is essentially, like someone posted earlier kiwikaki has to win 2 BO3s and Huk only has to win 1.

For the people who are complaining about the final Its double examination tourney, so at least if you lose you get a second chance rather than going straight out. Plus as other people have said its only fair that Huk gets an advantage for beating him before and staying in the winners bracket.

That's correct. Commentators must have made a mistake.

Yeah I don't see a whole lot of warp prisms. They don't even cost gas! I think P needs to evolve a little more. Colossus drops would be great, as long as you're good enough to not lose it.

No it's not the same.

Kiwi goes LWW in first and LWW in 2-nd.He wins.If it's a bo7 he will have lost 4:3.

Kiwi would have to win 2 Bo3 then.

You don't put them on even footing because that's giving the LB person (Kiwi) a free pass for losing in the tournament, allowing him to actually lose a series yet win the tournament, yet if HuK were to lose one straight-up Bo7 (his only tournament loss) like that he actually would have been punished for losing once while Kiwi was not.
A sound mind in a sound body, is a short, but full description of a happy state in this World: he that has these two, has little more to wish for; and he that wants either of them, will be little the better for anything else.

well, most of the korean stuff is single elim, and this bracket rule is different than how most tournaments are run, because the rule comes into effect for any rematch that occurs in the lower bracket, not just the final.

If it wasn't double elimination, KiWiKaKi would already be going home.
Lee Jae Dong proved that a focus on mechanics and execution could solve problems in the StarCraft game strategy.
