Completely agree don't rush a mothership. I'm just observing from people I've seen who often forget the mothership is even a unit.

Is using a Mothership and sniping Overseers viable? If you are comfortable with Disruptors control, I think they can deal pretty well with that. Lurkers need 2 shots, Roach/Hydra 1.

What's the best way to deal with speedling roach/Ravager?

You need to provide more information (base count, drone count, timing/all-in/macro, your opener etc.) preferably a replay.

Here's the BO: http://lotv.spawningtool.com/build/7382/
I went 3 gate Adept Pressure into TC then Robo off two bases trying to secure a third on Apothosis.

Hi,
I was wondering if there are any new (LOTV) overall guides on playing Protoss or SC2 in general. There is an extremely good , but old guide around:
http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/sc2-strategy/208343-how-to-improve-efficiently-at-sc2-1v1
Now, I am looking for something new for LOTV in particular for Protoss which is similar. As far as my understanding of the game goes, it is not important what kind of build order you execute or what kind of units you choose if you do not do this properly (at least unitl you get into high Diamond league):
http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/sc2-strategy/326528-underused-tactic-in-lower-leagues
Do you think that those two threads are still valid in LOTV?
I have seen a lot of discussion from players in silver to plat league asking what to do against mass this and fast that and mostly they get specific answers like: "you need to build X or Y as a counter". Wouldn't it be better to tell them
1. build probes 2. build pylon 3. spend your money 4. watch minimap 5. move your army
Since, currently I believe this is still the best counter until you get into higher leagues, I would really appreciate if someone could provide a guide for doing this in a correct way in LOTV or otherwise, if this is not valid anymore in LOTV help me with better guidance?
I am currently high gold league.
Regards

Definitely agree with the new player advice. However in some situations providing more specific advice is also good. (like anything on one base, some really weird/bad stuff (explaining why it is bad is a good way to improve understanding.)) Also you need to provide more specific feedback then just telling to macro better.
You need to look at their replays and compare to pros and or some other relatively high level players and make sure to point out the drastic macro differences, make sure they understand how big their mistakes are and what those mistakes even are (like making early static D, not spending resources, forgetting workers, not expanding, supply blocks etc.)
But just telling someone to macro better won't help. Concrete example and some hand holding are required to get those players a good start. Also teaching them to look at their replays so they can continue to improve their macro on their own is important.
Edit: those posts looked good to me.

Okay... thank you that pvz guide looks good. Especially it seems to be none of these 1 attack allin builds

proxy reaper into 2 factories mass cyclones with upgrade, floating the proxy rax to keep vision for the lock-ons : what should be the plan ?
|
Either Chargelots, Phoenix lift or WP micro to cancel the lockon and reset the cooldown.
|
Haven't played 1v1 since the last patch. Just played 3 straight zerg, and no I feel like quitting the game

its very strong because usually i use ramps to beat the 2 fac stuff, but with the rax, its harder. against this i give up natural and pylon the ramp. if my msc has full energy since i try to defend with just stalker, then i can overcharge to damage the rax, as well as wearing it down each time he retreats

Is there any reason for the terran to attack if you abandon the natural? Why not just start a cc back at home and sit below your natural ramp?
|
What is a good way to know when to take your gas at your natural and third?
|
For natural gases it is between 3:30-4:30 usually. Third base gases when you are about to reach 16 probes on the third.

Hi, need a standard opening in PvZ on Galactic Process. The standard 19 Nexus sucks most of the time against early pool since there's no way to wall off properly. Thx for help :D.
