Hey guys, i have 2 questions today.
1. ZvZ: When you open 10 pool (the economic no gas version) and encounter a hatch first build, should you focus on cancelling/killing the hatch, immediately go for the drones or even split up your lings to harass the drones with one part of your army while the other one is working on the hatch?
2. ZvP/T: How do you open on 4 player maps if you get a late overlord scout and thus don't know if your opponent fast expands or goes for reapers/gateway first? Do you blindly open gas?
Thx in advance

how do you play aggressive in ZvT or ZvP? ZvT yes you can go for roach bane all ins in some variations but is there any way to play a harrass or outright aggressive VIABLE style? i feel ZvP P got really good at easily defending any kind of aggression while they get their 3rd up. ZvT if you go for anything other than roach bane all in you will be on the backfoot defending with ling bane muta.
i feel blizz fucked up bigtime since the only way to win ZvP is to turtle with 15+ SHs behind spores and spines since the P deathball is way too strong to ever engage without mass static. ZvT is basically the same thing. roach bane all in or turtle somehow to ultra infestor which T figure out more and more to just kill Z before ultra + infestors pop.
its like blizz made roach ling bane hydra muta (vs the 100% SG openings of P) all in units that arent usable in a standard aggressive kind of play which is really sad

nope, you can't be aggressive as zerg outside of allins (except 3 base full saturation lair roach bling vs terran 3cc which i don't consider allin). you can't harass outside of a muta overcommit that pretty much forces you into a base trade play style. it sucks, really.

What's a really good time to take your natural in lower leagues(bronze)? especially for gas-heavy builds
|
huh? same time as in not lower leagues. learn some normal builds. don't play according to your league. transcend it!
|
ZvZ: How do you deal with economic 10 pools that try (and usually succeed) in killing or cancelling your natural hatchery? How can i tell a superaggressive 10 pool from an economic one? Do i try to save the hatch with my drones? Do i keep mining gas? Do i get lingspeed? I need pointers, because i'm really really lost. I usually open 15 pool 15 gas 17 hatch 16 queen (my build is not questionable)
|
ZVP: how do you deal with forcefields? I ended up sending units back to my main to stop a warp prism and then he comes to my nat and a good chunk of my army is stuck in my main because of forcefields. Ended up losing my natural and i had secured a HUGE economic lead up until then. It kind of seems like none of that mattered because he just presses F clicks on my ramp and then bam. gg. Also in large battles too. just decides to split your army in half and then what? the other half runs but you still just lost half an army for nothing.

As 15 pool, theyll be a fool to be too aggresive. Pull drones until lings are out. You should also check with your overlord when he expands and if lings srae still comming out. If they are, make more lings of your own and DO NOT LOSE DRONES, as they are your biggest advantage. Plus, if you scout them 10 pooling with gas, brace youself as that means aggro. Im not sure about the gas though. I need to hear another person's say

SUCH a general question, but zerg usualy takes it around 3:00, like 2:40. Never open 2 gas on 1 base.

1. Send just enough units to deal with the warp prism.
2. In large battles, hydras with range sometimes can attack despite forcefields. You still need vipers(or corruptors) against colossus. Other than that, you just need to accept the disadvantage and make more stuff than the protoss.
Overall, it's not easy, but SC's like that.

I haven't played in a long time. What are some good, up-to-date build orders? Are the ones on the wiki trustable and hots-proof?

Blade's guides are good.

This is a kinda weird question but I think it doesn't deserve its own thread. Basically I want to get into playing quite seriously and want to know what level I'm at. I played a 1v1 this morning and got ZvP on Belshire. Now, I've played around 700 1v1s over a 2 year period, and many as protoss or terran and mostly just doing fun cheesy shit, so I'm not exactly the most experienced player ever, although I have been following the scene and kinda know what I'm doing in games. Anyway, I get this game against a masters Protoss, and he looks to be a solid mid-masters player by his ladder rankings from previous seasons, however, and I say this as humbly as possible, I crushed him. It wasn't even close at all and when I watched the rep afterwards I found myself very critical of his play and couldn't believe that it was mid-masters. Basically what I'm asking, if someone would be kind enough to do so, is to watch the replay and tell me a) if I won because he was bad or because I was good, and b) if that really is mid-masters play. Thanks in advance, here's the rep <3

Hey guys,
ZvZ. I always try to ultralisks with lings and 3/3. Not sure how to react when I see mutas on the other side. At first its cool I can snipe bases because he does not have too many but then it just gets crazy. He can't attack me neither because I have 3-4 spores per bases.
Does that mean that I HAVE to play mutas if I see mutas on the other side? Not sure how to answer to mass mutas if I am uprading melee attack. At that point even hydras are not enough.
