Or is that just me?

Or is that just me? I think you should take the diagram as a suggestive guideline, not as a definitive "you must use these fingers" prescription. If it feels awkward for you, then use your pinky instead. Personally, I find it less awkward to reach with my ring finger than with my pinky.

I know that in the data document it tells which control groups are recommended for what units but it would be great if there was a visual layout, like how it is done in the darkgrid op, also if the visual layout showed what keys are used for attack, stop, hold position, patrol, etc would be another great bonus. I realize it might just be a lot of work but I think it would be a useful addition and would help the visual learners out there. Along with the chart for what keys are pressed with what finger I think that will make TheCore more accessible.

another question about that very awesome finger positioning chart: why would "." be hit with the middle finger? in relation to the thumb, its slightly closer than alt, so why wouldnt the thumb be assigned to that button as well?

I believe that's because '.' is used for a control group, and your thumb will have to be holding ctrl or shift while you press '.' a lot of the time. Once you've assigned stuff to the group, I supposed you could use your thumb to select the group

I 2nd this, a nice visual reference tool would be great for the recommended keys I'm always trying to decode the document and its just not as helpful to refer too.

More visuals will definitely be inbound for the full release, however, until that time we won't be spending time making visuals. If anyone would like to help us out and make some, that would be great :D
Thanks

Just curious when do you think the full release will come out?

As soon as we think its ready for the pros.

I had to use a workaround to get sc2 to work after the patch and now I can't find some of my old hotkey setups. Seems like a perfect excuse to start using The Core.

Thank you for taking the time to port not just one "main" keyboard layout to Dvorak (and many other non-standard layouts), but to port each keybind layout to each keyboard layout.
|
Also keep in mind that some keyboards are not quite the same as others, and some keys will definitely be more easily reachable with one finger on a keyboard, and with an other on another keyboard.

"Use Command Hotkey Text" needs to be enabled in-game from the options menu, it will show you the key for a given command. Instructions are in the vids.
