Regarding thumb usage, you'll also notice that many programers actually use their thumb for pressing V & B, though this will obviously depend on your hand placement. I have a ROCCAT Ryos MK Pro keyboard so I have 3 convenient "thumbster" keys which is very nice for alternative bindings (though I don't use them as much as I originally thought I would to be honest). As for Fleet Keys and thumb, Alt is also being used for a trigger for camera locations and control groups, so it really is being used a lot.

As for the whole "tournament ready" argument or rebinding of keys, unless you create macro's which will press multiple buttons at once, Blizzard won't care as the ToS says one button for one key. In all likelihood, a small macro probably won't be noticed by Blizzard as most people are too low a level for this to give them any real advantage. If someone disagrees with this, realize that Masters is only 2% of the entire player base, so most people aren't at that level (though you still are risking your account). Most of us will never play in any high level offline tournament where something like this would ever make a difference to our lives.

I don't know man, those are some good forcef... erm i mean, i don't know man, i think detecting macros must be one of the easiest procedures for Bnet, if the time between actions in a certain combination of actions is always exactly the same throghout the game, then the algorithm would only have to detect it X times/X games and bam, as soon as a human sees the logs you will probably get banned.

I feel like the mouse buttons have been neglected way too much and that there is enourmous potential for those who have more than 2 side buttons. Has anyone using the core experimented with moving certain things to your mouse? I am so used to the core, that i have been too lazy to experiment, the only thing i have is a super fast click repeater on my scrollwheel when i push it sideways. It makes spamming abilities such as Snipe or Autoturrets insanely easy and insanely fast without the need for rapidfire.

I am experimenting with binding Ctrl+Shift to my 3rd side Button on my new G502, since Ctrl+Shift for remaking Groups has never been comfortable for me, nor reliable, nor fast enough.

Logitech does not offer a rebind of Scroll Wheel Up or Down, but are any of you guys with Razer or Corsair Mice using it?
I think it would be super sick to use the Scroll Wheel in an unorthodox matter such as producing Scv'S by Scrolling Up for the CG and Scrolling down to hit the build worker hotkey)

Hi, Jak!

The Protoss CameraViewX bindings are messed up.
Also the alternate for ControlGroupAppend4 is empty.

Ok, seems like Logitech is stubborn about letting you remap your Scrollwheel up and down, and X-Mouse does not work for Sc2, so you can use Autohotkey:

Here is a script for it:

; StarCraft II
#IfWinActive ahk_class StarCraft II
{
WheelUp::
Send {PgUp}
return
WheelDown::
Send {PgDn}
return
}

Replace PgUp and PgDn to your desired key.

I am thinking about the best way to use this. Spamming snipe or infested terrans or autoturrets just doesn't cut it. It seems numb in comparison to the potential of the scroll wheel.

In ZRS 2.0, there is no hotkey bound to base camera. Base camera turn left has backspace bound to it instead.

Also the control group numbers do not match the spreadsheet. Such as control group #4.

Update on 2.0
New files on GitHub. See TheCore Master Spreadsheet for details. Links in the bottom of the OP.

Small bug fixes and changes this time around. I highly recommend 2.0 Protoss players to redownload.

Protoss
  1. Fixed shift recalls for cameras (thanks to pudf).
  2. Added missing alternate for adding to control group 4 (thanks again, pudf).
  3. Added missing alternate for Select Larva. It should work like Build basic now (Select Larva with one finger, build desired unit with the other. Choose the bind for Select Larva that results in no finger repetition).
  4. Changed the key for Neosteel to match Planetary Fortress and build Bunker.
  5. Changed keys for Halt and Select Builder

Zerg
  1. Swapped Graviton Catapult and Anion Pulse Crystals for APC to match the key to build Phonixes.
  2. Changed to key for Halt

Random
  1. Returned Tech Lab to its intended bind on F/K (thanks to brook8128).
  2. Swapped Enable and Disable Structure Attack for Baneling for Disable SA to match Unburrow, Stop Creep, etc.
  3. Some rarely used alternative binds for spells have been moved from 6/7 to Tab/]
  4. Non-rapidfire bind for Auto-Turret moved to the thumb key.
  5. Changed keys for Halt, Select Builder and Set Rally Point.

@Bulgogi
In ZRS 2.0, there is no hotkey bound to base camera. Base camera turn left has backspace bound to it instead.
Thanks! It seems to be caused by the fact that backspace is not remapped, when the medium layout is shifted to the right according to RShiftRightMaps in MapDefinitions.ini for TheCoreConverter. This means that Turn Left and Base Camera are on the same key, resulting in the least prioritized (Base Camera) to unbind. Adding "Backspace = " to the map definitions should do the trick, but it might not be the best solution though. In any case, it's probably something we should look at before the next update.

Also the control group numbers do not match the spreadsheet. Such as control group #4.
Not sure what you mean here, I can't see the difference. Keep in mind that the spreadsheets refer to the medium layouts.

I have:

I am not currently using the core, but when I was I had a mouse (Razor Naga) that had 12 side buttons. I accessed a lot of my CGs from there. (it broke one day when I slammed it after a loss - silly me ) I am not sure what i would be using the two button for on the side if i was still using the core, but:

Now I use the Coolmaster inferno. Currently I have my shift and ctrl on 2 of my 3 side buttons. I like this but many people do not recommend it. I also have two other buttons on ether side of the left and right mouse buttons which I use the right one for CG 5 (Queens when zerg) and the left side one for base camera. The wheel (when pushed in) I use for drag scroll when spreading the creep tumors.

Sorry, I tried to add pics of the mouses but could not do it.

Is control group #4 K or 9 in ZRM? Hotkey file says K, spreadsheet says 9.

Ah, I see. CGs are sorted by keyscore, so the spreadsheet is the correct one. All CGs are still the the file. 4-6 are just not in the right order. Will rearrange them by next update

So with the P,R and Z layout on a good way, any estimates when there will be a first terran layout?
Can't wait to play.. I had a long SC2 break and I'm eager to play.
Will it also use the red fingersplit and thus be similar to the protoss layout?
The early third hatches the drone

Hey there,
I have a little suggestion for the Random layout:
At the moment Cam 8 is used for Basecam 5, but is also used as creep cam 2.
Additionally Cam 1 is used as Chrono Cam and nothing else.
I would suggest to bind cam 7 or cam 8 on 3/0 to use as chrono cam. And bind Cam 1 to B/N for the base cam 5. Thus there is no conflict, if a Zerg has a 5th base and uses the creep cams. Also you will not need a creep cam and a chrono cam in the same game, so there should be no conflict.

I guess I found the issue !
In fact, I installed the raptr program associed with my AMD drivers recently and I just discovered this uses the CTRL + P, etc, keybinds in other tasks.

I reinstalled SC2 to fix another issue (the program 'optimized' my sc2 and fucked up my hybrid graphics).

So, for AMD users, if you have any problem like me (refer to the previous page), try quiting the raptr/AMD gaming evolved program !

--> I didn't test since my sc2 is reinstalling but I'm pretty sure it will work.

No ETA, as far as I know.
As for the split: red, orange and purple are all viable.

@YoTcA
For aesthetic purposes, cam 1-5 should be base cams for all layouts. Not sure why the Camera Order/Use box doesn't reflect that, but the cameras should be working good, if you see cam 1-5 as base cams, cam 6 as warp/rally and cam 7-8 as creep/chrono. Warp/rally should probably be cam 8 though to allow cam 6 to be base cam 6 or creep/chrono 2.

Oh, and I actually remember reading your post and wanting to suggest that a background program is grabbing certain key combinations because that once happened to me, too. Somehow I didn't, sorry!

So you suggest to use 0 (zero) for the main base cam?
Why not start with the home row (J), or if you want to prevent finger rep. maybe L which has a better KS?
Just want to understand the reason behind it, because I started using the random layout a few days ago.

We want to eliminate finger repetition when going through base cams. G/J as base cam 1 is nice, but leaves cam 3 on a worse key than it needs to be. A better keyscore for base cam 1 could be achieved by swapping base cam 1 and 5.

I have to ask, why was Lift Off mapped to "Z"? I used "V" as the control group for my command centers, and I've accidentally lifted my CC's several times.

So I just started using this layout after switching race to Terran after a long period of not playing SC2. I realize I'll probably stop making this mistake after getting more used to the keyboard layout, but why not map Lift Off to the Fn key or the Window key between Alt and Ctrl? It's much harder to hit accidentally.

As a matter of fact why are Window and Fn not used at all? Wouldn't Fn be easier to use than Ctrl+Shift for setting control groups?
