Zerg opponent goes Hydra/Roach. What unit composition to build? I couldn't remember what on earth was needed and ended up just making a random mix and getting overrun.

Colossi stalker sentry If you opened Stargate you can try Void + chargelot + HT(storm) but I wouldn't recommend it if you've never played like this before.

Isn't it better to go with immortals instead of voidrays and adding voidrays once zerg is on hive tech? Or do you want to use to voidrays aggressively?

I read it as I offrace as Toss (top 8 master). It helped me as I'm hitting more and more Zerg that will mass muta and drop spines at home. The gist of the build is that you must immediately drop a twilight, transition your BO and go blink stalker. You may continue to produce pheonix (if you were originally using that stargate for 1 vr->2 pheonix to slow/deny a 3rd), but do not attempt to only produce pheonix as the zerg can outproduce you overall. As a sidenote, I've noticed that +1 and shields are helpful for this type of muta harass since armor will not play as big of a factor

Not sure I get what you mean but, if you open void ray harass with 4 or 5 voids, then the only thing you need to be worried about is the hydralisk counter, which is why you get HTs (and chargelots to spend your mineral). Getting immortals won't help you kill hydras.

Protoss doesn't have colossus and as such making corruptors is a waste, and hydras is indeed a better counter to the voidrays than corruptors are as well. So making voidrays to counter corruptors which were made for no reason is a waste.

When starting out as Terran, the initial advice offered is to learn the mechanics through a TvX opening that uses 3rax marine marauder push at 50ish food. That is essentially what I played to place and am successful with its understanding. While choosing to shift to Protoss, I've been wondering if there is a build to start with regardless of matchup, as learning the mechanics while trying to remember 3 BO's (matchup dependent that I hope to get to eventually) would be a little more than my brain could handle. Couldn't find any in my initial search and reading of threads. Was curious what advice anyone may have? 4 Gate? XGate Robo? One of the FE's? Or is there no "safe enough" build to get me going. Just looking for something that I can get down smoothly to start experimenting with mid-games and reaction options. Any guidance appreciated! Sychar

Sychar There's no 1 build for all 3 matchups that leads to a macro game. Read this: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=266786

Sychar 3 gate robo works fine in PvP and PvT http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft2/3_Gate_Robo For PvZ however I think 3gate expand is a good way to start http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft2/3-Gate_Sentry_Expand Not sure if these are outdated but it should be pretty minor optimization you have to do if they are :p Like getting a unit 1 supply earlier or something like that. Some other notes: The 3 gate robo sets you up for a safe expansion or high eco one base all in against terran. The most normal thing is to expand while making an observer and some additional units for defense. In PvP however you get an observer and then immortals or colossi as this match up is much more volatile.
