How come some Pro Players won't even spend 100 minerals at the beginning of the game for a simple Spine Crawler (for zerg)....Like "just in case". I've seen so many times where a single spine would fend off hellions/reapers etc.. I mean isn't it a good idea to have at least one in ur main/expansion "just in case" or is it a giant waste?

It tends to be for a combination of 2 reasons. The main reason is that they tend to be working to specific builds and timings were losing a Drone, it's mining and 100 minerals sat at home doing nothing "just in case" might actually make a difference. The second reason is that the scouting at the top levels of play can be sufficient that they can recognise their opponents builds more or less, and know the approximate timings and so produce defense later, where even then units are often prefered as you can defend or attack with them. When it looks like they lose early because they were just unprepared it'll often be if you really look at their play that they either missed something with scouting or were close to holding it and didn't because they were trying to squeeze everything out of their build possible. It's true though that there are occasions where one Spine would make the difference which is generally why it's not something you really need to copy until you're at that point where 100 minerals and a Drone are the biggest issue though, but at the pro level it can matter.

I usually go 16 nexus or a similar 1gate FE build vs terran on 4 player maps. Usually they cant stop me if they hit me too early. However, vs a ~15 marine, 3 tank, SCV all in I cant fend it off for the life of me. I dont exactly know what the numbers are specifically, but early'ish game I will get hit with that all in and I cant defend it. Tips? And how do I know its coming exactly? I dont know terran builds at all..

Attack also stacks better with higher numbers of units(all attacking(hopefully) not all getting damaged) and is a bit cheaper. The thing is, since then I've had to reformat my laptop and lost all my links. I had a link to a thread where someone created a web site to help you with your builds. It was really easy, you could just click units you wanted to build, and you would always know how many minerals/gas you had at x minutes. Anyone know what I'm talking about? I tried doing a search but it wasn't fruitful. I'm an idiot. I just remembered I had posted in the thread, so I found it by looking at my post history. It can be found here: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=261129

Anticipate possible ways of messing something up, even in ways that don't really matter. For example, when you run around a corner, anticipate the possibility of someone walking around that corner as well (and he/she would be walking the right direction, since you should stay on your right side). I think it just helps you concentrate on things and keep your brain active: What is there that I can do to do better right now? If you practice and keep this kind of thinking in real life, you should be able to do it well in starcraft, which will help you be ready and stay calm for the 10% of the game where your preparation has not prepared you for. Thanks for the advice. You don't know actually how meaningful that sentence "Try to do your daily things perfectly" was. Couple of great persons have give me hints about the same thing, but now I see what they exactly meant. As they said; "If you can't clean your house right, or do the dishes right... how are you expected to run a multi-million company right?". Now I got the idea. And I will work on it harder than ever. -Sincerely, Siune

I dont know terran builds at all.. I'm guessing you're referring to marine tank pushes that hit around 7:00-7:30. You will not be able to scout this early enough with an obs, in fact it's really hard to scout until he actually shows his hand. You should have map control until he pushes out, make sure you have every tower to see this push as early as possible. Your best option is to chrono an immortal (if you have a robotics), burn spare chronos on warpgates and warp in exclusively zealots. Hopefully you already have early sentries with guardian shield, if not don't bother warping in fresh sentries they won't be doing you too many favours. You have to micro really well here. He has only one place to attack you, and that's your natural. Send parts of your army elsewhere to flank later, spread well, engage mid-map with stalkers, etc. Even if you do all of this perfectly it can be very very hard to hold.

Sorry it's not very short, but I think it's relatively simple...

Almost every match I've played against a Toss opponent they try to sneak a proxy pylon into a corner of my base and try to build tons of photon cannons or a gateway in the corner of my main, but every time I counter effectively and it's never worked. Is this a standard Protoss tactic, or just these kids messing around in the lower leauges? Sorry it's not very short, but I think it's relatively simple... It's generally done in lower leagues. Just make sure you scout the dark areas of your base, especially if you see a probe come into your base and go into the dark area and not come out. As soon as you scout a proxy gateway or cannons, build a bunker out of range of the cannons but defending your scvs and buildings. Put your first marines directly into that bunker. (wait a second, I just reread your question; are you saying that you can't counter effectively or you always counter effectively?)
