I am legit Bronze and trying to improve. My biggest flaw is being destroyed by Protoss cheese. Cannon rushes almost always work on me. If I see the probe come in my base, I usually send all of my SCVs to attack him to make sure to eliminate the probe so I don't lose right there, which typically happens. If I kill the probe, it sets me back on the build order I am trying to copy because I haven't been mining. I play Terran and have 2 questions.
1) How many SCVs should I send to kill a probe in my main base. Please take into account that I cannot micro yet. 2) If they start the cannon rush at the bottom of my ramp before I am able to push out, what is a realistic terran army to push out to regain control of my expansion? I often push out too early, lose my whole army and then have my base invaded. Or, I just turtle until I have a huge 1 base army and lose becasue my opponent is on 2-3 bases already.
Thanks, -Tanner 1) You should only send one, then send the marine. 2) As soon as you know you're cheesed, you should check your ramp. Walling off your ramp takes 3 pylons and that's 300 minerals. If you get stuck inside it's because you made that first mistake of not checking for the cannons. If you're still stuck, just make a marauder and destroy the pylons. If he made a LOT of cannons in your base, just fly all buildings to your expo. If you won't have marauders in a while you can just make a bunker and he won't be able to morph cannons near that bunker. But a marauder is just a techlab away from any build, so... just make one. Even a tank will work. After he cannon rushes you, just macro macro hard since he won't have attacking units. Be careful of DTs follow-up. Keep him on one base and steamroll him when he moves out.
Wow, thanks for the help!

What's the best way to counter 4 gates in PvP? What do you do against robo builds?

I have been focusing on a Roach/festor/ling midgame against protoss, I then transition into hive once my 2/2 starts. I go into infestor/brood/corruptor. I also go double evolution chamber, but what upgrades should I get? I've been getting range and carapace but should I be getting range and melee or something else?

It depends on how roach or ling heavy your composition is. If you are playing with mostly zerglings, then get melee and carapace. If you are playing mostly roach heavy, get range carapace. Both will help broodlords when you get them, because the first attack from the broodlord is helped by range attack upgrades while each hit from the broodling after that is helped by melee upgrades. Once you get 3/3 upgrades, then you can still get the melee upgrade to further help your broodlords.

1. ZvP, what's the standard build for a. maps where FFE is common, and b. maps where FFE is uncommon?
2. When do you put workers back on gas after speed ZvT?
3. When should you be aiming for lair ZvT? Baneling nest? Other gasses? I want a ling/muta style (but I guess I need to get used to roaches in case of BFH/mass hellion openers?)
4. What's the standard "safe" ZvZ opener? I thought I saw 14gas 13pool but this seems kind of weak.
Any help on this?

I think 14/14 is more common than 14/13.

I just realized that while watching a zerg stream. Sorry about that.

I am a Bronze Protoss scrub in 1v1 and Arranged Team 2v2, but today, I played 2v2 Random Team for fun and did the 5 placement matches. I won 4 of the 5 matches and Blizzard ranked my 2v2 RT performance as Platinum!
How the hell does that happen? I am Bronze, for real. Like I could maybe be Silver or Gold (and I am working to improve), but how did I get put in Platinum in 2v2 Random Teams?
(BTW none of my opponents or allies were higher than Gold - most were Silver IIRC.)

Uh, you did it by winning 4/5 placement matches, simple. And don't worry, 2v2 random team is in no way related to your 1v1 performance or record. 2v2 is a different beast than 1v1, and you are liable to get luckier, so don't freak out about this, it is what it is.

is there a guide to defending 11-11
or good replays that involve the zerg defending really well vs an equally well executed 11-11?
still the build i die to the most (that and immortal stalker two base all in)

Might not exactly fit here but I want to start offering coaching, and wondering WHERE to post, or where to direct people if i Do post.

I would like to receive any pointers or assistance to help me overcome my passive mentality. In pretty much every match up I tend to sit back passively in my base and attack at some "arbitrary" timing when I feel I must do something. And this really bites me in the ass PvZ where I let the Zerg get a huge econ because I'm terrified of ling runbys or muta harass....

Know what your enemy is doing and when he's doing it. Also, watch your replays. THink: wow, I could have pushed out here and just killed him.
Get into the practice of getting observers, or sending out sacrificial zealots/probes. Hallucination is also hugely helpful in this regard. A hallucinated phoenix is essentially a free scout.
Hope this helps!

From there I transition into 50 lings, brood lords, infestor and corruptor.

I'm speaking from a Protoss perspective who has also played some zerg at diamond.
1. a. You can either 15 hatch or 14pool/15hatch to be safer from cannon rushes at your nat. Afterwards you ideally want to transition into a really fast third (before 5m if possible) because it can't be contested before you get saturated. If you get that fast third and handle pressure without cutting or losing too many drones, your production will skyrocket by the time protoss gets his together. From then on do whatever makes sense. b. If protoss does 1gate FE or 3gate FE you'll probably want to do a speedling expand to lessen the effects of stalker pressure and because he won't have that many cannons so you can do some pokes/threaten runbys. You won't be able to get as fast of a third because protoss is not cutting into his gateway timing as much.
2. Try getting gas for your lair after you saturate your nat.
3. Depends on what the Terran's doing. If he's being more passive you're free to drone up, but against a hellion opening you'll have to get either more spines or some roaches. Just because you get some roaches to fend off the hellions doesn't mean you can't do muta/ling/bling after you hold off the pressure. It's just a bump in the road if the map geography/sim city doesn't let you do a mineral-only defense. For the first part of your question, I like getting a baneling nest after I start lair, and the spire after lair finishes, and have baneling speed ready after the mutas pop, with whatever upgrades I can squeeze in after all that gets done.
4. I suck at zvz, can't help you too much here, lol.
EDIT: for question 3, you need 500 gas for lair/bane nest/bane speed/spire, and you'll have more in the meantime for emergency banelings if you kick in 3-4 gasses after you get your lair. So 100 gas towards lair, next 50 for a bane nest, then bank until you have 200 for spire, either bank excess or spend it on banelings, then either get bane speed if you're being pressured to stay alive, or wait until after your mutas pop.

Where can i find Protoss strategies that are more specific to the ladder maps. 1v1 games. (maybe better to copy paste the following text and write your preferred strategy that's is most favourable to the specific map.
