It may make sense however because if you hotkey PFs and OCs in the same group you cant build SCVs out of all if you dont shiftselect them. Thanks Slunk, i have all cc's on 5, and just tab when i want to make scvs from all of them, which is kind of annoying i guess. So some people have all OCs and PFs on two diff hotkeys? One thing I do is have the cc currently building for an expansion set to 8 in addition to 5, so when its done, i can just have my camera over the empty natrual, press 8,lift,land. I was wondering if the pros are doing that or something similar.

- i hatch first he attacked i held it pulled ahead blah blah - i tried to counter attack his expo and this is when i had problems - With my view over his base i had wierd orange stuff all over my screen, i could not see units but could see health bars! - this was only over his expo base, and then i checked and it was the same for his main, i couldnt see it for all this orange stuff. My vision was 100% normal over the rest of the map. -he expanded far right and although this was previously fine after his expo went up then i had the same glitch, couldnt see anything through this wierd orange ****. he seemed pretty confident i couldnt prove it, funny enough its not shown in the replay (though you can see where i am moving the screen finding the edges of where i cant see) thankfully sc2 is yet another fullscreen game that gives me black images from printscreen -___- My question is : **Is this a known hack?** noone seems to know anything about it but i swear to god i've never had this before and refuse to believe it was luck due to it happening on his 3rd when the area was previously fine before he expo'd there.. *edit: the 2 screens i took actually saved into sc2 folder, so you can see what i see : http://www.mediafire.com/?5b87pmy1680lt9n this was only over his bases, rest of the map was normal. thank god i can prove im not crazy ![]()

I've been practicing this build against the insane computer today and while I've been improving a bit I'm still getting completely stomped most of the time and I'd be interested to know how this opening should be modified against a very aggressive opponent, because the thing is that usually by the time my sentry is finished, the computer attacks me with a much bigger army and I usually can't hold it off even by cutting his army in half with force field etc. The wiki link suggests going for a delayed robotic facility and cut down probe production but the thing is that this attack usually happens even before I've built my robotics facility. Naturally I could just build a forge + cannons and turtle like crazy but I don't really see myself getting a lot of useful practice out of that since I have yet to learn the basics. Any tips?

The only other suggestion I've heard echoes Day9 and says that the player in the aggressive position uses Vikings but the player on the defensive uses medivacs to exploit immobility. So my question: whay is the theory behind the popular Korean style of choosing medivacs over vikings from the very beginning of the game?

Hmmm I disagree, lately I've been doing a lot of double stargate void play and I find that players who don't go hydras are the toughest to beat. If I go voids my goal is to force you to make hydras, because they it plays right into my HT or colo transition. I've seen some players just stick to spore/queen for defense while using roach/ling counter attacks to stop me from setting up a 3rd, as well as forcing me to use voids defensively while they get a big eco lead with full saturation of 3 base vs my 2 or even getting a 4th as well. Then later on they can make a big muta tech switch or just use roach/infestor/queen to kill me. Note this does not mean to rush to infestor/spire, monk is right in that sense because infestor/spire does take too long to react to the initial void harass. Spire doesn't necessarily take too long but it's easily scouted and then I just switch to phoenix.

Also, I'm kinda confused about worker transfer for Protoss right now. I've read in the past that you should leave 16 probes at your main, and after that rally all probes from your main to your natural. And I still see players do that, but I've also watched games where toss players don't do it. So what gives? Is that the optimal way to do it or not, or does it depend on certain things?

Like say you're microing a stalker vs lings or a zealot, should you just attack move back, or instead click back, use hold position command or stop command and repeat.. There is no "wrong" way to kite, whatever is comfortable for you. That said, I click the direction I want to go then hit stop, rinse and repeat. I hit stop and not hold because s is much easier to hit than h. The most economical way would be to transfer a little over half of your probes from your main to your natural (2 or 3 more to nat) so that you mine out both bases around the same time. Using this way, rally each Nexus to its respective mineral field, so you will have just about even number of probes at each base, and each new probe from your main nexus can immediately start mining instead of having to transfer to your nat.

This basically means that they have given back to the community on the forums in some way, whether it be with a few well produced guides or by helping out members of the community.

I've seen queen/spore be viable but only if you either know the 2 stargate is coming or if you just got a bunch of queens for some reason. I don't think mass queen/mass spore is very good reactively once the 3-4 voids are in your base. At that point, a panic hydra den is your only option.
