Someone has probably already asked and\or answered this but seeing that there are over 130 pages of replies im gonna do the lazy thing and just ask... is there any AI you can play vs? I would absolutely love to play this but without any AI I just dont see any long term play for me personally at least. I never really got into playing Broodwar vs people so without the large player pool and matchmaking of the normal SCII play I dont think I could find a way to actually play this for more then a couple of games without AI.

Absolutely love the idea though, with or without AI, and the actual result looks really, really good.

theres no ai atm
im trying to adapt blizzards ai to work but im no programmer so at best if i ever finish it, it will still be pretty bad.

Really cool that you actually answer yourself

An AI that just macros and 1A:s into your base would do just fine but I understand that you might have other priorities.

Vulture micro is in the game , but it's hard to do with bnet latency..

Ok. This might not be worth it, but I have noticed by looking thru match histories that there is actually quite a few games played on sc2bw every day. The games are spread out over about ten maps however and so sc2bw stays about 8 pages back in the popularity. But I think we could easily get to page 2 if we all agreed to play a single map.

Say FS? Maybe there should be a poll.

This might be annoying for us but i think it might help out Maverck a lot. What do ya think folks?

the main issue is 101% of games are pre-organized. meaning people in chat channels or just with their friends. these are not public games and do not count towards the popularity meter

people need to press open to public before they launch the game

but either way. it's hopeless. custom map system is awful and theres no way to determine skill level/rank of your opponent before the game
if SC2BW got high on popularity i can't see many people enjoying it since it'll just end up being one sided stomps every single game.

everything about the custom map system works against me on this issue. i have no solution, but i welcome everyone to give it a shot anyway.

deinstall sc2 and play bw again...
the cg system is too sucky sry

I like the map select system, but I don't see a lot of people following through. I will try to remember to open the map to public in order to boost the popularity though.

Why not organize some KOTHs? That could boost the popularity a bit and would be fun. Just pick a day of the week and time.
What does it matter how I loose it?

I'm not certain about this. I think your in game ranking system will help in the long run. (Though I do hope we can upgrade it to something more like iccup's) In the shortrun most people can just exchange their old iccup rankings. Maybe I'm being too optimistic, I really want this project to succeed.

problem is the ranking doesn't appear until you're already playing the map. theres no way to show it in the lobby.

Found a tiny bug: Cannot cancel upgrades at the armory using the escape key.

Edit: Also, could the spider mines kill eggs in BW? I don't remember that happening. Hopefully, yes cause I know you're sick of spider mines

Oh that's awesome. In that case then, eventually the larvae will need to be spread out because I planted two mines and it took out 3 eggs that were clumped together iirc.

You need to use the BW mechanic settings for it to be balanced, Mutalisks would be pretty imbalanced without the no-limit selection cap. Zerg is most favored with the new settings, on how they have to manage the drones with the one way rally and all their hatcheries are split up.

With BW settings, this is a great map! Keep up the good work! Play this with my friends all the time!
Try making one on a decent StarCraft 2 map, like Metalopolis (but increase the distances?) or Tal' Darim, making one map from SC2 wouldn't hurt =D

The only thing I would like to ask is: are all these units used in this mode that are missing in SC2 such as dragoons, guardians, corsairs, arbiters etc. already designed and present in SC2 database? I mean if these units are already designed can we suggest that they will be added to the "final cut" of SC2?
Because I really think that in the end we will have BroodWar + a lot of new units * new mechanics and Blizzard just started WoL from the majority of new units and only later they will add "known" units to the game to complete it.

blizzard said all sc1 units would be in the editor but they are not.
the only ones are the WoL units and lurkers/scourge
