The point is, the most successful player isn't necessarily the best player at the time. Each Power Rank writers has his own unique way of grading the top players that month. Some writers look only at who was performing the best in that particular month, while some tend to consider previous months performances and give great players the benefit of the doubt. The problem with these PR discussions, is everyone criticizes the current PR writer for his decisions without taking into account the standards he or she is using. Plexa quite clearly takes into consideration who he feels is the overall "better" or more impressive player rather than jumping someone up to #2/#3 based on stats alone when they are likely just going to drop out the next month.

Besides, I think I read in a Flash interview somewhere that he (Flash) thought / knew that Light was particularly good at Winner's League (so it may just be his thing).
I'm not anti-Light, its just that when your nickname is the "invisible terran", you suddenly understand why he is one of those who comes and goes from the PR.

If the Starcraft pro-scene was a work of fiction, people would accuse Flash of being a Mary Sue. He's ridiculously overpowered and it seems like every loss he takes just makes him stronger next time.
Look at how many times he's lost 2 games in a row. Once to Jaedong in the controversial 3-4 MSL sets, and then....? You have to go all the way back to June '09 to find the next time.

Well, July 09, which is still pretty good but that's like, you have to exclude one (controversial) series and then it's about 9 months. Excellent but kind of a weird metric.

It is. We had protoss maps who was the best player? Bisu. We had zerg maps, who was the best player? Jaedong. We now have terran maps, who is the best player? Flash.
I used to think too that those three players defy imbalances. They do to some extent, but I doubt Flash would be dominating so much if we had the same maps as last year.
This is why savior's dominance was so great.

Except that Flash was dominating when no other terran was. Just see the evolution of the PR in recent times to see this. Furthermore, one could argue the success of Flash (and by extension Bisu/Jaedong) is the reason you have more terrans doing well atm.

Flash's most successful point in his career was when Terrans were doing the absolute worst due to horribly TvP maps.
OSL + GSI +deep berth in MSL + PL domination in 08. He's probably gonna pass that up this season.
Also he just won an OSL off of tough maps for Terran like HBR.

I completely agree with SuperArc; Flash's recent dominance is completely due to map imba. I mean, there were a fuckton of Terran players who made it past the quarter-finals in last seasons OSL and MSL, right?

I was being sarcastic. Last season when Flash got to the finals of both Starleagues, he was the only T who made it past the quarter-finals.

yeah but i don't think anybody can deny that terrans are doing pretty well in winner's league. anyway, whatever, it's particularly ridiculous because flash has a history of doing incredible things on unfavorable maps
