He's staying in Korea and it's not like he's no longer friends with MC. Why would he stop practicing with the highest level of Koreans? Think about it like HuK is simply moving out of the house. No big deal. Hell, there are plenty of oGs players who don't even live in the team house and are doing just fine (Nada and Zenio to name a couple).

I should know since I am in the industry. I'm not convinced you're living in the same world as the average person (and perhaps I envy you for that). Just taking a quick look at salaries in Canada, I find this: Average Salary Lower Average Salary In Canada Becomes Even Lower Those Canadian at the bottom of 20 per cent fell by 20 per cent comparing last 30 years. The median income for this group dropped from $19,300 in 1980 to $15,300 in 2010. All in 2010 Canadian dollars. The Middle Average Income In Canada Stagnate Those people in the middle of 20 per cent group found their salaries stagnate. Statistics Canada shows that this group's median salary was $41,300 in 1980. And pretty much the same 30 years later. The Rich Get Richest The richest top 20 per cent found their salaries rise by 16 per cent to $86,200. This is also shown in big increase of those who earn above the $100.000 a year. In 1980, 3.4 per cent people reached that value. By 2010 this value jump to 6.5 per cent. Looking on Monster, the average salary for an "Accountant III" is $70k. That's for someone with over 5 years experience. Basically, getting $100k/yr is not something just anyone can do. In fact, only 6.5% of people in Canada earn that much. Money like that is VERY good. Realistically, even half that much is a life changing amount when you add on paid living arrangements, paid travel, living expenses in South Korea, and the additional amount that he makes from winnings (including code S salary).

I just think that if his practice comes down to playing against other EG members, his game will not continue to improve. Just my $.02

In soccer(football) stars that transfer from United to City are already made men many times over. Between liquid and EG must be massive. Hero looks pretty good, but we'll need some events and some interaction to develop any bond with him.

Oh, you're 14? That does explain it. Everyone is a narcissist at that age. I'll explain why I said that. What you wrote is "I..." "my..." "me..." Everything is about your thoughts, your feelings, your expectations. Nowhere do you stop and think about how HuK might feel. Why he might choose to do that. What his current needs/future plans are. Everything this announcement is to you is you being betrayed. Whereas I can tell you that HuK doesn't care about your feelings, when he's thinking about which job to take. And if you expect him to, in a way that is absolutely unrealistic, then the fault lies with you, not with him. Things do not work this way. We're not in a glorified high-school movie where the beloved underdog team suddenly wins the big tournament and everyone is happy forever except for the bad villain team who get exposed as frauds. Real life is not a movie. I am not picking on you here, I just want you to think a little bit about what you are writing, why you are writing it the way you are writing it, and how the result comes across to people who are not you. And to be fair, you are definitely not the only person on TL who has been churning out stuff like this today. And deep inside they whisper "but this is not supposed to happen, the good guy is supposed to stay with his team until they win"... But it never does happen anywhere except in the movies. And when the main actor doesn't behave properly, he gets chewed out for not conforming to people's delusions. hm, read about it before you thrown around big words like that; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Narcissism yes I am writting what I feel after I read that announcement. I dont know what HuK feels, and to read that you know is kind of funny...i dont think he will change his mind. But you dont know if HiK is reading it and crying...dont think you know who he feels No one in here knows how much he gets in salary from EG, it could be 50000 or 1000000 whatever, i still feel he sold out.

Well HuK, I'm disappointed that you're leaving, but I can see how it's not really a losing situation for you. You can still stay in Korea and practice with everyone there, and you get (apparently) worlds more money, and you can still keep your friendships with everyone from Liquid. I think I'm disappointed in that you're leaving, but it's the kind of sad I get when my friends leave Arkansas for grad school. I understand why they go and wish them well, but it still sucks that they're leaving me to another year of college without them. Please, if there is one thing people in this thread will understand after this post, understand this. HuK is still living in Korea, so why would he miss out on the practice partners he has now? It's not like oGs uses a special kind of Battle.net, and it's not like players don't practice with members from different teams. Friendships ascend that kind of petty bullshit. Plus, there has been rumors, specifically from Heostat, that this is just another in a series of announcements that will be coming. Who says Idra/Puma/HuK won't be staying in the oGs house? oGs-TL-EG house would be great for everyone. EG has the money and Idra/Puma/HuK, TL has money and Jinro, and oGs has the Korean talent + Korean SC2 need for financial help. Maybe not as much as fOU did, but every Korean SC2 team seems to need money right now. These people are all friends. Let's remember that and that they've all mostly accepted HuK's departure before lighting the pitchforks. If TL isn't pissed enough to disown HuK or denounce EG, why should we?

In this sense, EG is kind of a victim of Huk's success, this would have been such a non-story in my eyes if it had happened a couple months ago. Huk could have gone on to win dreakhack, hsc, and whatever else with an EG jersey and I would have commended EG for recognizing and appreciating his talent even when he hadn't won anything for awhile. As it is now though, it just looks like they are trying to buy out his accomplishments and success and put their name on it, and coming off the Puma-right-after-NASL deal, I think it's pretty clear how EG's management is approaching expanding their talent. I won't blame Huk for taking a life-changing deal, but I can't support management (or complacent sponsorship) that is unable or unwilling to foster new talent. Can't wait to see which Blizzcon player they pick up so they can have a jersey in that tournament. Or maybe they'll just skip that step and head straight to the winner! You do realise that EG has been interested in Huk for a long time. Huk had offers from both TL and EG before he joined TL. They went for him now because his contract with TL was ending (thats what I understood at least). You EG haters are trying so hard to look for some way to dislike them and their business. Why is it wrong to go for a top player? If the player agrees its the best decision, and the other team is okay with releasing that play I cannot see anything wrong at all, not at all. And why didnt you guys rag on mouze for picking up Thorzaine after his TSL3 victory? Same deal. There are so many examples of teams doing the same thing, but when EG does something so many people want to get the "lets hate EG" bandwagon rolling.

Its going to be around 150k or more. If we ever find out you can mark my words. Otherwise, I don't see any point in further arguing this. In my mind and opinion, it has to be at least 150k as in my opinion less than 100k non-life changing based on what I have said already. If you disagree, then whatever, its not like I really give a shit what some random scrub on TL thinks. I was just posting my opinion and did not need to write an essay to back up my opinion or how I came to that conclusion, even if you try to discredit me. Uh...ok? You had an opinion, and I, as well as several others disagreed. We're not trying to bash you, we're not trying to hate you, we're only stating the obvious: Yes there is ambiguity because we don't actually have $$$ values, just a bunch of conjecture. Is there really a need to start calling names and attacking other people?
