Oh, you're 14? That does explain it. Everyone is a narcissist at that age. I'll explain why I said that. What you wrote is "I..." "my..." "me..." Everything is about your thoughts, your feelings, your expectations. Nowhere do you stop and think about how HuK might feel. Why he might choose to do that. What his current needs/future plans are. Everything this announcement is to you is you being betrayed. Whereas I can tell you that HuK doesn't care about your feelings, when he's thinking about which job to take. And if you expect him to, in a way that is absolutely unrealistic, then the fault lies with you, not with him. Things do not work this way. We're not in a glorified high-school movie where the beloved underdog team suddenly wins the big tournament and everyone is happy forever except for the bad villain team who get exposed as frauds. Real life is not a movie. I am not picking on you here, I just want you to think a little bit about what you are writing, why you are writing it the way you are writing it, and how the result comes across to people who are not you. And to be fair, you are definitely not the only person on TL who has been churning out stuff like this today. And deep inside they whisper "but this is not supposed to happen, the good guy is supposed to stay with his team until they win"... But it never does happen anywhere except in the movies. And when the main actor doesn't behave properly, he gets chewed out for not conforming to people's delusions. hm, read about it before you thrown around big words like that; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Narcissism yes I am writting what I feel after I read that announcement. I dont know what HuK feels, and to read that you know is kind of funny...i dont think he will change his mind. But you dont know if HiK is reading it and crying...dont think you know who he feels No one in here knows how much he gets in salary from EG, it could be 50000 or 1000000 whatever, i still feel he sold out. Well, after reading what you've said I really hope that you reconsider and keep supporting HuK. People love to talk about professional athletes selling out. A lot of this is due to the fact that they're receiving mind boggling large amounts of money, and once you're making a certain amount it really seems like other things start to matter. Someone leaves his team so he can make 10 million instead of just 8? Wow. Sell out. However, HuK isn't getting paid nearly this amount of money. He's getting a small enough income that things like this matter a LOT. A huge number of people will leave their job for another if it paid better, and why not? People are struggling to make ends meet, one way or another. It's not surprising that people who are living on their own and working are more sympathetic to HuK's reasons. We actually do understand the reasoning behind it because we've been through the same thing. Personally, I'm really happy for HuK. He's now getting paid really well and I feel that he deserves it. He's being rewarded for all the hard work that he's put into this game. I feel bad for Team Liquid but that doesn't in any way change how I feel about HuK as a player.

Now your time has finally come, all your hard work has paid off and the true fans know that you deserve this opportunity and everything that comes with it. During good times, or bad, whether its with Liquid or EG, I know you are never going to take your eyes off the goal to be the best, which is why I will always be a fan. FIGHTING! btw, TY EG for giving my favorite player what he deserves. Idra, Huk, and Puma under one roof is going to make all of them so much better, not to mention all the practice partner contacts that Huk/Puma will ALWAYS have to draw on from oGs/TSL and other players in Korea. This next year of sc2 is going to be a great year for Huk and EG.

![]() I am going to miss Huk in liquid, hopefully he'll stick to what he's doing best , getting better at sc2. A loss for TL and a gain for EG. Just remember Huk is still out there guys, he hasn't disappeared just because he changed teams... ![]()

We had known since a few months ago that it would be a difficult period. Coming off winning championships at Dreamhack and HSC, and with a legion of fans supporting him, it was obvious that there would be a lot of interest in acquiring HuK. For us, this meant making him an offer that we felt would rival any other offer that we thought could be made. To the furthest extent our finances would allow, we tried to keep HuK with the team. HuK, too, wanted to stay very much. He loved being a part of Liquid, and was willing to stay with us for significantly less than other teams. However, the offer that he received from EG wasn't just significant, it was potentially life-changing. EG fully recognized HuK's value as a player, and were absolutely single-minded in making sure they received his signature. Huk was placed at a crossroads that could influence the rest of his life and made the choice that he thought was best for him. I understand EG's reasoning in going after NA's best player and biggest superstar, and HuK's decision for joining them. I want to know how much his salary is!! It must be massive This is definitely around 150,000USD or more. This means that HuK will be able to buy a car, put a down payment on a house and have enough money to live extremely comfortable. The only problem is, if this contract over a period of at least 3 years, its not that great. If EG suddenly disappeared next year (not saying it will), he'd be out of a 6 figure salary to support his lifestyle. Anything less than 100,000, I would consider not life that changing since you could probably just get a paper pushing job somewhere for close to that much with room for advancement. HuK is at the peak of the professionals within his region/country (US/Canada/South-America) and anything less than 150-200k would be a huge disappointment since most top tier professionals in a respectable paper pushing company make around 750-1000k / year. That is TOP professional (as in top 1%) which HuK is at in his career. Best of luck Chris. You're wrong. You are not having a basic paper pushing job for "somewhere close" to $100,000 a year. 30-50k? Maybe. 50k is on the VERY high end of that. After a achieving a professional designation, your average salary for a Chartered Accountant is just under 6 figures. I should know since I am in the industry. I'm not convinced you're living in the same world as the average person (and perhaps I envy you for that). Just taking a quick look at salaries in Canada, I find this: Average Salary Show nested quote + Lower Average Salary In Canada Becomes Even Lower Those Canadian at the bottom of 20 per cent fell by 20 per cent comparing last 30 years. The median income for this group dropped from $19,300 in 1980 to $15,300 in 2010. All in 2010 Canadian dollars. The Middle Average Income In Canada Stagnate Those people in the middle of 20 per cent group found their salaries stagnate. Statistics Canada shows that this group's median salary was $41,300 in 1980. And pretty much the same 30 years later. The Rich Get Richest The richest top 20 per cent found their salaries rise by 16 per cent to $86,200. This is also shown in big increase of those who earn above the $100.000 a year. In 1980, 3.4 per cent people reached that value. By 2010 this value jump to 6.5 per cent. Looking on Monster, the average salary for an "Accountant III" is $70k. That's for someone with over 5 years experience. Basically, getting $100k/yr is not something just anyone can do. In fact, only 6.5% of people in Canada earn that much. Money like that is VERY good. Realistically, even half that much is a life changing amount when you add on paid living arrangements, paid travel, living expenses in South Korea, and the additional amount that he makes from winnings (including code S salary). When you aggregate every single person in the entire country, of course its going to be much lower. I'm talking about "professional paper pusher" not your average payroll clerk. Those are not professional paper pushers. If you are a payroll clerk you are probably making the same as if you were flipping burgers. 100k/yr isn't just anyone can do, on average, people as hard working as HuK, would find it not as life changing to make less than 100k/yr. But you have good points as well so I'm not going to debate this. I'll simply accept that I may have been overly optimistic that average Canadians make more money. I still stand by what I say for the most part though.

That said, I can't support buying an ace player. In this sense, EG is kind of a victim of Huk's success, this would have been such a non-story in my eyes if it had happened a couple months ago. Huk could have gone on to win dreakhack, hsc, and whatever else with an EG jersey and I would have commended EG for recognizing and appreciating his talent even when he hadn't won anything for awhile. As it is now though, it just looks like they are trying to buy out his accomplishments and success and put their name on it, and coming off the Puma-right-after-NASL deal, I think it's pretty clear how EG's management is approaching expanding their talent. I won't blame Huk for taking a life-changing deal, but I can't support management (or complacent sponsorship) that is unable or unwilling to foster new talent. Can't wait to see which Blizzcon player they pick up so they can have a jersey in that tournament. Or maybe they'll just skip that step and head straight to the winner! You do realise that EG has been interested in Huk for a long time. Huk had offers from both TL and EG before he joined TL. They went for him now because his contract with TL was ending (thats what I understood at least). You EG haters are trying so hard to look for some way to dislike them and their business. Why is it wrong to go for a top player? If the player agrees its the best decision, and the other team is okay with releasing that play I cannot see anything wrong at all, not at all. And why didnt you guys rag on mouze for picking up Thorzaine after his TSL3 victory? Same deal. There are so many examples of teams doing the same thing, but when EG does something so many people want to get the "lets hate EG" bandwagon rolling. Yes I realize that, that's why I made specific mention of the fact that EG is a victim of Huk's success. If Huk had lost those tourneys and EG picked him up, nonstory. If they had picked up Huk prior to his victories and then he went on to win with an EG jersey, nonstory. But that is not the way it happened. They saw him rise to the top of his game, his team, and the foreigner scene and then they made their offer. It is worth noting EG showed interest in Huk very early on when TL first picked him up as well, but it's also worth pointing out he had just won an MLG. Make no mistake, all team's will do this from time to time when they have the money advantage over the previous team (you pointed out Thorzain as another example of it), but not all team's utilize it as their sole acquisition method. Liquid has picked up plenty of players without any recent victories, and even unknowns like Hero when they see the talent. I just haven't seen EG do this. They have a pretty clear precedent of throwing jerseys at people as they are stepping off the podium and that's about it.
