We've been going on this whole shitstorm assuming someone running for office is red.
The mafia could see that and just think "well wouldn't it really fuck with them if none of us ran? They'll tear each other apart and probably end up lynching their elected candidates"
That's kind what is happening too.
Well, the mayor or sheriff cannot be role checked by a detective. Also, they can put people in jail (to silence or protect them) and they get extra votes. So it seems pretty valuable for the mob to have elected official(s).
Running with "mob support" could be easier if you can build some sort of critical mass + confusion and wait for people to bandwagon. I am not saying that is what happened, just that it would be worth a shot, if you were the mob.
Finally, removing non-mob officials from office is hard for the mob initially, because the bodyguards are alive. So if they do not get elected, the mob could have to live with an "honest" official for a while.
Just a few thoughts. Of course, there is a chance I am wrong and they were indeed very patient.

Do you all really wanna solve the world crisis in one day?
Maybe taking a random random on the first day wasn't that much without merit after all. We could use a hat with stripes of paper and all.
|
What kind of detective would claim after day 1? That doesn't seem very practical at all, even if you have a mafia identity confirmed.
|
Even if we did have a detective rolechecking, the mafia would probably whack him pretty fast.

Right. I'm just proposing the possibility, we should consider everything before jumping to conclusions.
Personally, I think it's likely that at least one of the candidates is mafia. Which includes:
Myself t_co Meeple citi.zen Nikoner Ng5

did we have any other candidates?

You guys are so lucky that you're so far ahead than us. But it still doesn't make you guys superior than our town. We got the goods! ^_^

I've been thinking, how can we find confirmed innocents to help coordinate town?
Detectives can sort of confirm an innocent with a rolecheck. It could still be the godfather though.
Medics can confirm someone by saving that person.
Are there any other ways?

I think it's more prudent to lynch t_co first. There were a lot of good points brought up earlier regarding how lynching Hobbes will get us nowhere, and at the very least we'll get some information from t_co's lynch. At this point, I think that's more valuable than lynching a maybe mafia that wouldn't reduce their KP at all.

Good questions but not sure I have any answers. For example, the medic could inadvertently save a lynched mobster, no?

Or a killed on - remember the mob can kill their own guy. If they did AND the medic saved them, they'd be in great shape.

Medics can't save anyone from being lynched.

Actually mafia can't kill their own.

Medics cannot save anyone from being lynched. They can only save people from dying during the night, and lynches happen in the daytime.

Mafia can kill their own members, if they choose.

But wouldn't that be fairly obvious, since the night description would have 2 people teaming up to kill a red?

I can't wait for the first night - exciting stuff!

No, Mafia members only need one hit to be killed, unless they have medic protection. Only veterans or people with medic protection need more than one hit to be killed.
|
I just realized that a medic cannot be absolutely sure either. He could save someone from a vigilante hit.
