It's going to be a ton of fun when Monte makes every player look like an idiot at the game they're supposed to be pro at.

I'd rather have had scarra, Locodoco or Araneae than Nien or Doublelift, but Riot is going for marketing, not the actual best they can get (even though Loco or Araneae might be harder to understand, they've proven they can deliver very deep analysis again and again). Pretty much the red line going all through tournament planning.

If I knew Korean, the LWC viewing experience will be a lot better with CloudTemplaer and Repeared casting T_T

Then I realized I probably won't be in Korea during the time. My trip might get cancelled meh.

OGN did very nice production for the Allstars event in my opinion! I loved the fact that they had their own seperate access to all the cameras and could completely do their own cut, with classic OGN faceshots.

Also, hype!

If kayle countered zed and fizz we would see a lot more kayles in competitive play.

You don't simply practice a counter-pick, you also need to make it useful in a team composition.
And because you're outpicked in lane doesn't mean you'll be dead weight during the game either.

During the taiwanese all stars vs MVP Ozone match they picked kayle for westdoor against dade's zed and it worked out pretty well. He got 2 solo kills against dade although perhaps the first kill was more dade's fault.

Still, the roaming of zed is difficult to deal with and not always something you can counter as kayle. I don't think kayle should significantly outfarm zed while in lane, but zed can't all in her.

neh, could get picked and work well. but the pace of the game is getting faster and faster, and kayle's power spike doesn't come as early as some of the assassin heroes.

It's a tourney for regions that don't have LCS(Except GamingGear) so it's just the guys that won within those regions playing. GamingGear is an EU team that qualified as a CIS team. It's pretty dodgy honestly.

Not everyone is a Monte fan. I prefer almost any player over him.

Agreed, there was an OGN game last split which was so boring that he and Doa literally put me to sleep. Sorry for my ignorance. Does he play at high level on the Korean server?

He doesn't play at high level on any server. His analysis doesn't focus on individual skill or lane matchups, item build etc, but rather on the big picture team strategies. For this specific niche that he fills as an analyst/caster, playing solo queue at all is a complete waste of time, because literally 0% of the overal team strategy that professionals use competition applies to solo queue, when instead you could be studying vods of professional games from around the world.

So yeah, in exchange for not playing solo queue at all he watches a lot of vods and talks to Korean analysts/casters/coaches about strategy. That's why he is so good at what he does, because he is directly at the source exchanging knowledge with some of the best people in the business.

Wish I knew more korean to hear what Reapered and Cloudtemplar have to say ^^

Actually I'm curious about how the they do the korean casting. Do both Nal-ra and Kim Dong Jun provide the "color commentating" while Mr J. does Play-by-Play alone? Obviously all 3 of them bring the HYPE :D.

MC Yong Joon: Keeps the tone of the cast quite light-hearted, and prefers to do a very energetic banter-heavy commentary style to keep in touch with those who may be completely new to the game. Focuses mainly on the storylines, the hype, and acts as a guide, like the kind of guy who introduces a friend to a brand new sport by pointing out the general outline, but draws them into it basically through explaining why this sport is so awesome to watch.

Caster Kim: Is very well connected in the scene, and knows the tendencies, the form, and the mindgames going on between the professional players better than almost anyone. If someone is practicing a certain champion on solo-que, caster Kim will know about it. If the general consensus amongst the professional team is a certain player is on a really hot-form during practice, he will know about it. By adding in, all these little nuances to the commentary we get to find out a lot about the hidden context going on. He keeps everyone up to date, on what kind of things are in vogue in the scene. He also, from his extensive viewing, and casting experience, has a very acute sense of knowing what's important, and how to express it in the most concise manner.

Nal rA: Has his own unique style of trying to interpret the game as he understands it, and to be honest, it has been very lacking compared to his insight into the theory behind playing Starcraft professionally, but he is sticking with it, and is in my opinion, the one that is most focused on the actual gaming aspect of the commentary, but he tends to be very long winded, and quite frankly, any articulate professionals such as NoFe, Reapered or CloudTemplar could do a much better job. However, as a person, his quirks, and short-comings have become kind of endearing.

while he is definately ahead of some NA and EU Pros in terms of strategy, I wouldn´t expect at all, that he will make anyone look bad. Because that is something he simply doesn´t do!

Would definitely be appreciated!

Thx Letmelose! Gotta work on my korean so one day I can attend an OGN Final and understand what they say!

Caster Kim's cast for NA vs EU during allstars was quite easy to understand though PENTAKILLLRRRR
