& yeah, echoing general sentiments re: the frustration of having e.g. OMG vs Royal potentially resulting in Royal not getting to play any international teams; with the regional locking, international exposure/experience/mixing is hard to come by. I would have been much happier with a larger tournament - as well as the obvious iG/KTB/etc contenders, I think it would have been decent for international LoL to have given teams like TPS, SGS and paiN a chance to match up/learn in the absence of other tournaments.

well the bye in allstars garunteed them to get one of the four semi seeds, so really they did.

They would've been at the tourney anyway though, just not in the semis. Korea/China winning won't get them a 4th/3rd team next year.

My friend and I were talking about how riot shouldve gathered all the 3rd and 4th place finishers in all the main regions (eu, na, kr, ch) and have them play each others instead of ggeu and mineski for the 13th and 14th seed.
Even though that would be fucked up for southeast asia, they simply haven't performed at all in both s2 and s3 championships

Respect the Chinese viewers? no need, I'm watching it for my own entertainment. The luck of the draw happens in every tournament. OMG even draw first, can only blame their luck.

Your need to see the BEST teams in WC than Region Teams is insignificant compared to viewers who wants to watch the current set up.

who exactly are these "viewers who wants to watch the current set up" and why on earth do you think they outnumber the chinese viewing population who would like to see royal play at least one game in the world championships against someone who isn't OMG?

Just like euros complained about language at allstars, despite most of what you need to communicate can be done in pings and all of them speak decent english.
