Might take longer but it seems fairer. Is the time rule Riot's creation?

Now MYM also seems to be thinking of it as they are turtling hard. Fair enough, I respect that the teams recognized this and changed their play style accordingly. I really liked the way they did it at the LCS where the first two matches happen and than the winners play each other and the losers play each other and so on.

Is the time rule Riot's creation? Only ESL uses this system. It has been criticized for YEARS and they insist on it.

Is the time rule Riot's creation? I'm pretty sure it isn't. IIRC it dates back to when DotA was still at IEM (though I think people hated it then too).

Is the time rule Riot's creation? Sadly getting BO2 in a round robin format doesn't happen that often in LoL tournaments.

It's getting to the point where in games between "close" teams, Blue/Purple imbalance seems a bit too relevant.

Personally I think the mini 4-team double elimination format is best (A vs B, C vs D, winner vs winner, loser vs loser, winner-loser vs loser-winner)
