Ouch. M5 won this with only 26 minutes, lol.

The best round-robin system IMO is OGN's system; 1 game on each side, 3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw.
Might take longer but it seems fairer.

Is the time rule Riot's creation?

Oh boy, then we get to use that awesome time based tie breaker.

Well everybody knew that could come into play. And it seemed like MYM had this in mind when they dived into the base of Curse at 21 min into the game.

I knew it was a possibility, doesn't mean I have to like it.

I was just pointing out that its not totally random but that it actually play a role in the games. Now MYM also seems to be thinking of it as they are turtling hard.

Fair enough, I respect that the teams recognized this and changed their play style accordingly. I really liked the way they did it at the LCS where the first two matches happen and than the winners play each other and the losers play each other and so on.

Only ESL uses this system.
It has been criticized for YEARS and they insist on it.

I'm pretty sure it isn't. IIRC it dates back to when DotA was still at IEM (though I think people hated it then too).

And... this is why I prefer the Dual Tournament Style. You just win two games before you lose two games. Simple.

Sadly getting BO2 in a round robin format doesn't happen that often in LoL tournaments.

Also, I'd point out that in MYM vs Curse, Curse vs Gambit, and Gambit vs MYM, Blue team won all 3 games.

It's getting to the point where in games between "close" teams, Blue/Purple imbalance seems a bit too relevant.

It could be worse. They could choose a tiebreaker rule that encourages the winning team to turtle (e.g. best K/D ratio)

Personally I think the mini 4-team double elimination format is best (A vs B, C vs D, winner vs winner, loser vs loser, winner-loser vs loser-winner)

they should seperate first pick and blue side and see where that leads to.

The system used in MSL was the best. It was essentially a double elimination group stage.

Actually if Curse beats Blaze, Blue team will have had a 100% winrate in this group.

No they should always go for a Bo2 instead of Bo1's. As many have said it's alot more fair and easy to balance points out.

Happy Birthday Shake.

No Blaze x Curse isn't streamed, sadly. Even now that GG vs MYM has ended, they don't switch games :/
