Keep the rage to a minimum. This includes wait times between games, music, and balance.
Fair warning to all. |

The people who are good at casting are basically players who only do it once in a while

I have to say (back on topic) That in terms of organization TI2 is (aside from the lack of some sort of WB advantage), the single most beautifully organized tournament, in terms of progression and fairness, that I have ever witnessed.
The group stages were done by dividing the pool into 2 groups of 8 and doing Round Robin Bo2's for standing in which no team was outright eliminated and all got to play at least 14 games at the event and made it to the main event. The Bo2 format and the fact that every team played each team left nothing to chance, with even the radiant/dire (similar to blue vs purple and something that's always been an issue in BoX, where X is an odd number) evened out. If a team made it to the WB of the event, you knew damn well why, because they wode through the blood of 7 of the other best teams in the world to get there instead of having l337noScope480xXx Coin Flipping skillz
The rest of the tourney was standard Double Elimination, with the teams that were "eliminated" during the group stages starting in the LB instead of outright going home, adding potential and leading to more exposure for every team. The only thing I would have changed was the lack of WB advantage. While I think free wins or additional series are too much of an advantage and kills hype and the fact that you have less games and got a break to relax and analyze your opponent was fine, I'd like to have seen some extra prize (be it an additional $50,000) or some sort of tour or even something fun like getting to add some in-game items to the winners of the WB. This way you get to incentivize and award winning the WB without needing to do the hype killing/inbalancing the finals with free wins

God the translations at TI2 were such a shitshow. + Show Spoiler + You know I had to talk to Eric to get them to add the translations at TI2 right? at first they didn't even have any (if u watched the first intros) and I noted to them at some point that some sort of translations for that stuff was a must. And since the official translator (Anderson aka the guy doing the interviews aka #1 handsome incompetent scumbag) couldn't do it they had to get inexperienced commentating staff to try to do live translations, which basically led them to translating the first 2 things correctly, get really far behind and having to paraphrase/wing stuff out of midair. That said, the fact that they instantly recognized the need and did it so quickly was amazing to me. lol says he can translate can only say "back to James" scumbag Anderson Well he's also a scumbag for other reasons, namely selling invites he got from valve + the international booklets for money and claiming they were official resellers, basically while Anderson is handsome and personable to the western audience+valve, most of China recognize him to be a scumbag Icefrog was apparently made aware of this from facebook and replied "he will be punished" or something to that effect Yeah I'm aware of that, lol, just still thought it was funny that he couldn't translate when it came down to it. w/e this is getting way off topic EDIT: btw did you watch the GTV restream at all? It was lagging way more for me than the Garena stream, so I turned it off, but I'm curious what DC is like commentating LoL, lol.
I did a bit, but then I actually wanted to get something knowledge-based out of my commentary so I switched to the official Chinese one. (I'm sure there'll be a blooper reel or something of DC's commentary and I get all the DC trolling I need from the variety show anyways)
The Chinese commentators at the LoL finals are actually doing a great job and the duos had good chemistry and banter with a good amount of game knowledge, even if they dont have the past experience or fanbase of the DotA ones.

Yeah I also wanted to say I liked the Chinese commentators a lot from what I saw today. Professional in suits, but also obviously loved the game.

I'm assuming korean vods are property of ongamenet and they will upload to their site. While I love korean commentaries and production, their stream quality was subpar to english one. Even at 720+ on both, korean one had noticeably lower resolution. I like that they had interviews with korean players during downtime tho. Cloudtemplar even came and commentated on first 2 Sword games.
As for quarterfinals, both korean teams seem to think chinese teams are underestimated and iG has a good chance to beat M5, so all Asian semi doesn't seem that out of question. I do want to see M5 vs Sword tho. Their hyper aggressive playstyles should make for some very entertaining games.

Their strat was to lose the game if they don't get blue side? The fuck kind of excuse is that. Moving from bitching about OP stuff to bitching about a coin toss. Can't logic gaming.
is he really blaming the side for their debacle... man i expected more - even from him

ocelote can be a douche sometimes but at least he says: opponent played better and chauster says we didnt get blue side l0l

Haha I knew Chauster would say something after seeing they got purple side all 3 games. He's always complaining about how it's impossible to win bot lane as purple.

I think CLG.eu defeated WE convincingly last time. And since its a BO3, I think I'm going with CLG.EU
Najinn was impressive, almost flawless. I think the fact of playing 3 games could give them a slight edge. I'll go with them, but that's because I don't know anything about TPA
|
I think TPA will lose because they arent really used to that ammount of opposition. They crush everything in TW, but they lost pretty hard to CLGeu when they played them over there. Its hard for them to get better fast because theres just not that many teams on their level in TW.
|
Maybe CLG should practice their coinflip predictions before putting their championship on Blue side. And Roffles I just made a simple joke about how you're pretty much a more immune Idra when it comes to posting. No need to get mad and attack me, breh.
Sometimes I think you're seeing how much you can get away with to test the mods.
