HSGG is definitely one of the best top solos in the game but only when he's on the ball and not derping around like he did these two games.
is understandable, Burbs crushed his spirit huehue

Although it was a combined effort from the team to lose, I just find that really funny because people consider Hotshot to be one of the best solotops When he's playing badly. When he's playing well he IS the best solo top on the planet tbh. Just he's really inconsistent. I disagree. I actually would take TRM or Westrice over HSGG top. His hero range is limited, and even at his best he goes for strats where he can farm, get really tanky, and get in the way. Its useful, but only if the rest of the team can kill shit. Its very rare for HS to play an aggressive solo top that can actually benefit in terms of dps (throwing out push comp nidalee). You are crazy. Only top laner I'd possibly take over Hotshot is Voyboy. I mean, you mention limited hero selection as a reason to pick Westrice over him??? Westrice carries. Hotshot doesnt. Not only that, but Westrice makes Akali, Talon, and Riven all look op against professionals. Ill take a lesser range if the person is a maestro with champs that will singelhandedly win games, as west often will. Voyboy is good, but he never seems to take over a game. And TRM gives you consistency, a range of heroes (both in terms of defensive and more dps chams).
Note- I dont think that HS is terrible, and every now and again he will pull out a game and look really good. But on average you get a few boneheaded plays every game that just make you go WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU THINKING, even in the games he carries. And his range is decent, but how scared are you really of tank cho? Galio? He is probably the 3rd best Jax in US, and his Nidalee needs an entire team built around it.

Stopped reading there. As much as it's cool thing to do the whole hate on hotshot thing, there have been plenty of tournament games where hotshot has carried the game. Just saying. You know there IS a reason nidalee is still banned by the other teams.

The fuck? If you're replacing HSGG the only person I'd consider is Voyboy. TRM is really binary. Westrice has an even smaller champion pool than HSGG and he's not as amazing when he's "on."

I love Rain Man's philosophy of top lane, but I really just hate watching it in play. My favorite TRM line is "You can't force greatness" he just basically sits there and waits for his opponent to make mistakes, rather than go in and try and make plays like Hotshot does. Rain Man pretty much started top lane Udyr, it fits him way better than hotshot, where he just sits, farms with w, and waits patiently for someone to overextend, then he just constant bear tiger stances them to death.
This playstyle isn't necessarily BETTER in all situations so to speak, but it definitely is when you're playing outside of solo queue, and you're playing against people who are trying to force plays on you.
I guess that's why he's a good Teemo player, he never risks himself and just uses Teemos natural advantage in lane to win.
Westrice, is just a batshit crazy tunnel vision player, who is fucking awesome to watch. But sometimes, he does stuff so dumb that it makes Hotshot doing dumb stuff look good. However, when he pulls off his plays, all you can do is think "holy fucking shit this guy is pro"

TRM is decent though I dislike him for obvious reasons not related to his gameplay. On the other hand, Westrice carries, and that's why EG (as much as I like them) is LoL's YellOw? And as far as the full retard moments, I'm pretty sure Westrice has more of those too. Westrice is undeniably more fun to watch, he's got a great flashy playstyle, but in either a head-to-head or just a general top matchup I would never pick him over Hotshot. He's not even close.

Let's just drop the hate bandwagonin, HSGG is without doubt a good player and everybody has bad games. Earlier HSGG did awesome in several 2v1 ganks at top, now whole CLG team played like solo Q while poland actually played more like a team.
|
In any case, these games were lost by the whole team. Everyone got caught alone at least once, if not twice. The play was just all around bad. Except possibly Jiji, who seemed to be calm, and was still trying to win for the majority of the game.

Im just curious, but why does everyone have a hard on for voyboy? I mean, I think he is definitely top tier, but I cant think of a single time he has taken over a game (normally its scarra or qtpie), and he doesnt exactly have a reputation for any single champion.
TRM is more consistent, West has a higher ceiling, and HSGG is a better farmer AND more consistent.
|
Isn't voyboy known for his renekton?
|
Srsly. Total team fail. Canada got off to a great start in game 2. Even down towers and dragons, they were up in gold because their farming was so much better. But they could never pull it together for the necessary team confrontation. People were getting caught, CONSTANTLY through both games, and that's why they lost.
Now, I'd like to move on. When in hell does the next match start? It's not seriously 3AM is it?
Edit: also, what are the "obvious reasons other than his game play" that the guy above doesn't like TRM? Is it 'cause he keeps TSM from being all azn?

Renekton, Akali, and Talon. He's willing to make big plays that TRM doesn't make. He has the single most diverse champion pool of all the most famous solo top players. He's inconsistent, sure, but so is every solo top due to just how dynamic that lane is. Although I guess TRM is consistent but his play style is so fucking boring and I swear he never makes plays especially compared to HSGG/Westrice/Voyboy.
I'm pretty sure Voyboy and scarra carry games. Not qtpie.

You are pretty good at only remembering what you want I guess. Voyboy's Renekton absolutely dominated the MLG where he subbed for CLG, and he's dominated broadcasted tournament games with Jax and Akali (though I can't remember off the top of my head which they were). I don't get how having a reputation for a single champion is relevant at all when you're a top-tier player with a diverse selection of champions (and he has the most extensive comfortable champion repertoire of any top laner), but I'll always consider him an Ezreal player.

Lots of people dislike him for the same reason people don't like Hotshot. Some people don't like watching streams where the guy playing is yelling and raging the entire game. TRM also comes across as a douchey frat boy wannabe to a lot of people. Also, TRM only drinks Smirnoff Ice.
