After trying the new Udyr out, I think they completely gutted Lanedyr. I can't see him being able to survive early anymore, it just costs ridiculous amounts of mana to use turtle stance. As the game goes on I could see offsetting it with mana pots/items, but you can use turtle stance like 5 times before you're out of mana? Ugh.

Exiling him to the jungle I guess.

It's a pretty big deal in lane. You can't really spam turtle shield, and if you get in a prolonged damage exchange, you're going to run out of mana pretty quickly. It's really awful early on when the mana costs are highest, and doesn't really get much better as you go along.

The bear stance buff is pretty good for Udyr. I stopped getting turtle a long time ago so I haven't noticed that change yet. And turtle I never built AP scaling so I usually just ignored the stance until level 16. The distance of the bear stance charge isn't much but for some reason it makes stunning people much easier.

He's completely broken now. I tend to play tanky junglers like amumu and sejuani who aren't the best duelists, and have no idea how to stop him from just completely eating all of my jungle constantly. Can't fight him, can't catch or outrun him, and just get further and further behind on farm.

I played jungle tiger, getting QRE-> gank. You do so much damage with Q->E->R->Q it's not even funny. People don't expect the first 2 hits to literally take off half their health.

Unfortunately udyr is not the best champ to carry on regardless of how fed you are if the enemy is also fed =/.

I'm opening R > E > Q > Gank, two more in R, then maxing Q, E and W last since I'm opening Wriggles ATM. Gonna take a lot of experimenting since I'm fairly new to him in general -- only played him a few times prior to update.

I'm loving the new udyr. The new buffs to his E and R have made him stupendous. With his new E, if you are between flash locations(ie behind the gank target) and you activate bear as he flashes, you will dash straight to him and stun him. In team fights, you can quickly double dash if you activate bear in melee range of your first target(the dash is only in effect in the active duration), letting you get to the back lines that much easier. The R buff gives him respectable burst in ganks, and makes his jungle clear that much faster.

Build Udyr with Nashors and Lichbane for high burst phoenix procs. How viable is building AP on Udyr? With enough AP/cdr his Turtle shield might be lolz.

not nearly enough ap to make lichbane worth it

riven works much better with the whole "stack damage and get a better shield" because she actually scales well with ad as well as getting a better shield

as for the changes:
-the passive is definitely a nerf, the % resist was a lot better and the extra movement speed isnt that noticeable although its nice in early ganks
-Attack speed is still good because you need 4 autos in r to double proc it meaning either you get cdr and just get the first hit and stance dance of go for attack speed and try to get 4 hits in before swapping stances
-The pheonix extra damage is nice but over a long time not hugely better than before due to the loss of the 48 ap and 24 ad, but a lot better in burst situations.

Everyone is overhyping how good he got from the changes when in reality he was already pretty good but people judge way too fast after a nerf and although he's a bit better it doesn't change him drastically at all. (he plays better without as much farm because he can build full tank and still do some damage even if he isn't unkillable and doesn't have attack speed items)
