LotV closed beta announced to start on March 31 - Page 5

Thanks to Reddit sleuths, everyone can try the LotV test maps by following instructions here. Note: This is not a beta key, it is simply access to Vs. AI and a Unit Tester. I have no idea how cool with this Blizzard is or is not, use at your own risk.

So far, 12 feels like a good starting point for us, but we wonder if we can increase this even further without affecting early game choices too much. =\ Please no. Also, I guess there is no changes to slowing down battles... I like how they consider the real-time timer a "feature".

I'm a little worried about that as well, although it's nice to see that Blizzard already knows about this potential issue right out of the gates. Between the stalker and the adept and the battlecruiser (and the mothership core?), it seems that Blizzard is becoming pretty blink-happy, regardless of the range of the teleport lol. Quite frankly, I'm just happy that the adept is a ranged unit coming out of the gateway, so it may have decent micro potential against bio and slow lings in the early game. I just don't know what it can offer that a squad of blink stalkers can't already accomplish.

It makes the games more intense and more exciting to play (and hopefully watch).

I'm not seeing Blizzard's perspective here that adding more spells/abilities to units will equal more micro and therefore entertaining games. Adding more buttons to press doesn't necessarily add complexity or entertainment, it feels tedious and certain spells don't add challenge or make engaging or retreat nearly impossible.
