Thanks to Reddit sleuths, everyone can try the LotV test maps by following instructions here. Note: This is not a beta key, it is simply access to Vs. AI and a Unit Tester. I have no idea how cool with this Blizzard is or is not, use at your own risk. |

Could be something they were just testing that they just didn't bother to remove data for, though. It isn't necessarily ingame. Truly immortal. That indeed sounds stupid and is probably something they played with before deciding it was silly Or more than likely a campaign only ability

I think the problem is that the game is treating this as debugging a map through the editor, which means it is -extremely- picky about what it loads. If something has an error, it stops reading and tells you. There are five minor errors in the unit data, which wouldn't normally affect a game (or stop it from loading anyway), but which may be preventing loading LotV assets through drag n' drop.
Specifically: Too many CAbilAttack abilities for 'Nexus'. Too many CAbilStop abilities for 'ThorAP'. Too many CAbilAttack abilities for 'ThorAP'. Too many CAbilMove abilities for 'ThorAP'. Too many CAbilMove abilities for 'SeekerMissile'.

I'm stuck on initializing with the lotv folder being always stuck on 5.05GB any ideas?

So you're thinking that by removing the extra data the LotV dependency will load instead?

I've played nearly 350 1v1 ladder games this season. Hope to god that's enough to earn a beta key!

Had the same, close StarCraft 2 in the background. Close the Bnet launcher, start it up again.

Going to try a few more things and go to bed, I think.

dcemuser, could you maybe check the attack dmg/speed stats of the Adept? : c
|
Adept weapons: <Range value="4"/> <Period value="2.25"/> <DamagePoint value="0.4"/>
|
|
What they added a damage point to the new toss unit. Maybe we will see damagepoint/backswing across the board in lotv? Would be sick.
|
Adept model looks stupid. Needs a redesign (so does the Disruptor).

Some Cyclone stats from my cursory inspection of the gamedata.
Cost: 150/150/3 Speed: 2.8125 HP: 200 Armor: 1 Damage: 18 (+2) Cooldown: 1 (.6667) DPS: 18 (27) Range: 6
AFAICT lock-on reduces the cooldown to .6667 from 1, has starting range 6, and leash range 15, but has a 6 second cooldown, There's an upgrade that boosts the range to 9.
The cooldown means you _really_ want to babysit this thing and make sure it's locked on to the right target, otherwise you're wasting a ton of potential damage.

Drag-n-Dropping any map ontop of the SC2Switchers gives the "You can't play this map on Starter Edition" error... What do I do to fix this so I can check and see the progress here? =)
EDIT: Yes, I own both WoL and HotS.

Ye, its true and i kinda knew that but 0,4 damage point seems higher than "normal" somehow, could be wrong tho. Marines have almost instant damage point for example.

it should be really good in archon mode (as we saw at blizzcon) since if someone else is macroing for you this isn't a problem.
