I lost a couple fights because I forgot that I need to smite someone to get the effect, and that it isn't an item active. With the new smite duration it's not necessarily interesting to smite someone either.

He's a top tier jungler this patch...

honestly just because those 3 jungle champions were top tier in pro play doesn't mean anything for us. They all had really low win rates :p

Cool. A couple of my irl friends play League a lot more consistently than I do, and they range from Bronze V - Silver IV. I was previously under the impression that Gold was fairly decent in terms of game skill, but in my (admittedly short) adventures in ranked I was consistently outperforming Gold-level players in a variety of match-ups.

Keep in mind that gold and higher is the top, iirc, ~13% of the ladder.

If gold is top 13%. How da fuq am I in gold ii? Cuz I'm god damn awful at this game.

Gold II is top 14% or so. Gold 5 is top 23%. Plat 5 is top 7.6%.

And the answer is that lots of people are even worse than you are at this game.

Are there any champions that are in a separate tier nowadays for any role, such as when the jungler rotation was Lee Sin-Elise-Kha'Zix? It seems to me that the Summoner's Rift Update reset the meta-turntable of champion balance. The top lane in particular is quite varied, and in 15 ranked games I only faced one champion twice (Xin Zhao).

Top lane is pretty much Gnar and everybody else before this last patch. Haven't gotten a pulse on the current patch to see if his nerfs knocked him down.

I played against a Gnar as Garen, my main, and made his laning phase a living hell. The damage from the boomerang at early levels in completely negligible, and Garen's early game damage should squash any attempts of aggression. Post-laning, however, Gnar is a ticking timebomb. The damage scaling on his abilities is truly absurd, and the amount of utility he gets in mega form is just layer on the cake. You have to beat Gnar early, because he is just a menace lategame. Even Garen's frankly broken regeneration isn't enough to oust Gnar lategame. What top laner can? Nasus after 45min of Q farming? Kayle? Ryze?

no, as someone else mentioned you have to add in the tiers above so gold 5 is top 33.36%.

Also, for someone who is bad at adc and wants an easy-carry champion (like how Ahri is for midlane; safe, easy to farm, good damage, some utility) who do you guys recommend? I've played Caitlyn a bunch but I rarely stay relevant and felt like I needed to be too proactive in my skill usage. I just tried Graves yesterday in normals and hard carried, though. His skills are much for useful in a straight up fight, which is apparently my strong suite. I believe Lucian is quite strong still but his kit feels too wonky for me.

You could try Corki. Otherwise playing Lucian some more might be your best bet.

If you don't mind not having an escape then Miss Fortune is a really high-damage, easy to use ADC in SoloQ.

I also really enjoy my games on Ashe though she may not fit your style.

I just play Ezreal when i want a safety adc, he's a caster so its easy to adapt to, and he can do everything himself if he needs to, and its very easy to catch back up in farm from the jungle and the lanes with ezreal if you fall behind.

Korean amateur player Rush IX, currently ranking no1 on KR server will move to an american team.

Eeeeh ezreal feels like a noob trap imo, it's easy to get farm and not die but actually putting out decent damage is trickier and bad ezreals are just Q and ult bots (That miss Q most of the time). I think lucian and corgi are better bets especially if he's comfortable with graves

Curse Dig both have uncompleted rosters.

He's a jungle main so it can only be either CLG (If xmithie falls through), LMQ or some challenger team.

When Ezreal was free a short while ago I gave him a spin in both the adc and mid ap roles. He didn't seem strong or weak: in fact, he is pretty balanced in comparison to some new releases. However, I felt like Ezreal's raw damage was lower than a lot of other marksmens and thus requires a more niche comp to fit. Then again, anybody who plays enough can make any champion look overpowered given the right circumstances.

An even better bet is to just keep playing graves.Guy is pretty solid and easy to play.

I will definitely consider both of those. Ashe seems more likely since she's cheap and I feel permanently out of IP.

I thought he was an OGN smurf for the longest time, good to hear he's found a team though

What do people recommend for typical jungle rune page? Are people running full AS for the most part? what about yellows? Hp per level? flat armor?

lucian feels a bit wonky until you get zerker greaves/zeal. then he feels amazing imo.

ezreal is my favorite adc lately. i find he requires a lot more concentration to play well, but man, it is so fun to go on a rampage with ez.

i also picked up kallista today. I wasnt going to, but I was looking at the list of champs and she was the only one that mildly interested me. she feels pretty smooth to play, looking forward to trying her out more.

i dont think there is a 'typical jungle rune page'. i have 5 or 6 pages set up for the different junglers i have been playing around with. ill just post what i have.

zac/diana: as reds, armor yellows, scaling mr blues, ap quints
yi: AS quints and reds, a mix of scaling and flat cdr blues, armor yellows
vi: flat cdr/mr blues, ad reds, AS quints, armor yellows
sejuani: scaling hp yellows, AS reds, armor Quints, 5 ap blues, 4 scaling mr blues
Aatrox (also just used this page for wukong and it worked really well): ad reds, 2 AS quints, 1 Lifesteal quint, Scaling mr blues, armor yellows
