he can be. with specialized rune pages you can always get through lane with vlad. the problem is whether or not you are going to be able to be effective enough compared to your opponent when the early mid game hits and you are needed for dragon control. and that comes from experience and team compositions.

A general problem with vlad currently is that he is less suited for teleport. He just lacks the good cc and midgame tankyness to make use of teleport ganks as well as other toplaners.

If I'm not playing Gnar myself (who I think is on par with the likes of Nidalee and Teemo in Top), I usually go Maokai, GP, or Yorick. When laning against Gnar, the main point is to not get incredibly bullied out of lane. You want to have a way to farm from afar if necessary (e.g. Maokai EQ or GP's Parley against a very aggro Gnar) or have a spamable harass that allows you to contest the lane and creep wave if Gnar isn't full aggro (e.g. GP and Yorick).

I imagine bruisers with a hard CC like Riven and Irelia could all-in at some point, with Ignite. But I don't play bruisers who all-in pre-6, so I'll leave that end open.

first impressions of the viktor vs gnar matchup didn't seem bad at all, although it was leveling an account on LAN with free week champs so the skill level was incredibly low.

Quinn wrecks most tops though.

But can you really WRECK Gnar? I mean his stats + CC on mega gnar seem super strong no matter what, even with minimal farm, and even in worst case scenarios on lane he is still ranged with 1100 range boomerangs that help. I maybe have 15~ matches with him, and i've lost many lanes, but i cant remember a single game where i could not farm/or the enemy snowballd super hard of me.

I've counterpicked Gnar with Vayne most times I've seen him, and it's pretty free. This was in SIlver 2 while I was making the climb though. It might be a really dumb idea if you're actually good.

The more I played gnar, the more I was thinking if Vayne's kit would be better or worse if her true silver bolts got replaced with Gnar's W.

Vayne and esp pantheon can really wreck a gnar, definitely. Probably quinn too. Only during tiny phase though. You just gotta accept the fact that whenever gnar is big, he is the most op pos in the game and you gotta back off.

I suppose so, but I think his ranged form is insanely powerful if you get a chance to build damage/AS. He would be straight up broken if he was only his ranged form, and got like 500 range instead of 400.

OddOne firmly believes that Diana is going to be the most op broken shit come jungle patch. Because she never gets low in jungle, and so far only Zac and Diana can do a full clear on first clear (in his tests).
