It's also got to do with the champs too. You need a certain type of kit to make use of things like Liandry's and Rylai's (the two most obvious alternate AP build items), and the champs that can use them effectively don't have the desirable qualities the current meta calls for. Brand and Malzahar are the two most obvious examples of this. I personally am surprised Vel'koz doesn't see pro play out of mid, but he's in the same boat. | ||
