I mean first of all you are playing the most popular/mainstream PC game ever so it's kind of ironic. Secondly, I just like playing champions I find fun, fotm or not. I am just glad that so many fotm champs right now are both entertaining and rewarding to play (Lucian, Vi, Ziggs, Leona) because ultimately this is how I have the most fun in LoL. I actively avoid top lane because I don't find any of the currently strong champions in that role much fun to play (Mundo zzz, Shyv zzz).

However, when a champion gets super popular very quickly it's annoying to be accused of being a band wagoner.

He's way better top lane, I got pretty strong early game, going like 3-0 after babysitting top (Darius vs Teemo) and burning flashes 24/7 but mid-late game I've felt he fallen a lot, after I've jumped on anyone I got immedietaly bursted down. Not to mention they had a pretty hard CC, also Teemo and his Q ... :\ I've went for elder > tiamat > hydra > spirit visage > randuin. For me, if anything Aatrox is a mid laner now (perhaps can work as a carry jungle as well) You have to go damage with him to be somehow useful and you cannot afford that top lane in the current meta ![]()

I mean he's really good early if you can execute ganks well since you have a knockup and a slow and pretty nice damage but once I get to mid game I feel terribly useless :\ I get bursted so hard and so fast that even with a revive I'm going down pretty fast :\

+ Show Spoiler + Aatrox isn't terrible as a champion right now, but he might be terrible as a jungler due to how his early-game (aka the only reason you jungled Aatrox) was nerfed pretty hard. For example, we look at game 2 of CJ Entus vs Jin Air and we saw Aatrox come out as a counterpick against Shyvana from trAce (which CJ laneswapped to remove the advantage of the counterpick) and he managed to farm okay under tower, and he picked up a fast hydra to just permanently sustain/trade farm with Shy. At a midgame dragon fight with all members present Aatrox was a significantly stronger threat to the opposing team's backline. He was pretty much single-handedly zoning out the enemies carries with a hydra/visage/wardens mail/tabi build due to his insane regen/stickiness. He's probably not a top tier soloQ pick but I think that he has competitive potential as a niche counterpick. MonteCristo said that trAce likes picking Aatrox a lot to counter other top lane tanks, which comes as weird to me because I don't think he should really do well vs other popular picks except vs Shyvana (Renekton manhandles Aatrox, unsure of Mundo), because they have a very similar role/playstyle of a backline disruptor/tank but Shyvana is not even close to as threatening as Aatrox until very late in the game, while I think that ultimately Aatrox scales better due to his passive + the ability to land multiple knockups in a teamfight. He's a very interesting pick in the toplane right now IMO and I'll be very interested to see if any other teams will be picking him.

Once he got his sustain/waveclear though, it simply didn't matter that there was a shyv in the lane. I'd imagine renekton is much the same. Once aatrox can't be bursted he's pretty much impossible to remove from a lane because it takes so little to bring him up to an acceptable amount of HP. Especially with the ability to 1v2 so you go 1v1 with a small item probably makes a huge difference.

I plan on making her my go-to AP offlaner to avoid getting shoe-horned into a full physical comp if it comes to that, but I haven't had the opportunity to practice much yet.

Mainly, but I have played her top on occasion. She might just be the hardest bully vs Melees in the game. Someone like Darius can't touch you. You make Singed cry for once. Even someone with hard engages is manageable. I haven't played her top in the current super tank meta, but like I said, she farms extremely well (Can clear with a QE), and anti tank items like Liandries and Morello's are really good buys on her. Renekton might be annoying because he has two dashes, but Shyvana and Mundo would just be farm fests. They can't kill you, but it's unlikely you can kill them, unless they eat heaps of harass. She kites like a fucking boss and even has a good escape for the long lane. Only problem is sustain.

Like Bt or Bork on him more than hydra, he doesnt really need the waveclear with E/Q tbh.
