Liandries with morellomnicon pretty much a must buy if you're playing malz.

malzahar is bad anyways, he dies to anything that can move because he has no way of getting away from anything. All he does is win lane (unless he gets ganked in which case gg no re) and hopefully ult someone in a teamfight and doesn't get killed/cc during it. he is probably the only champ I would classify as unviable as a midlaner.

Niche comp, but I wouldn't go so far as to call unviable, and sometimes all you gotta do is win lane against a snowballer and you carried your weight.

Really? Hmm... It's been a while since I played as him but his peel for saving ADC(ult) and his AoE dmg(Q) were pretty significant. Dnno, even if I somehow failed in lane I always racked up kills in the mid/lategame. Then again I've only played 4 games with him in ranked this season ^-^(4-0). I can see him not being a priority pick but unviable... Hmm, I wouldn't be surprised if there was a sudden surge of Malzahar in the same way it happened for champions like Swain.
I really think I need to learn to play support well, again got carried extremely hard by an amazing thresh who made plays all over the place. It's really the only role where you get to just do stuff and don't need to worry about things like farming.

He can splitpush rather well, and his damage in a 1v1 remains incredibly good.
Going to have to test it out again, however.

malzahar is the greatest champion in this game, he is the fiora to my shikyo

I wonder if Malz could be played as a support. Great anti-dive with ult, nice aoe silence, decent harass with E. Although he's probably still inferior to the popular supports tho.

Dexter is saying some pretty interesting things on his streams about lemondogs. He said that he pretty much carried nukeduck during the laning phase as no team caught on to him camping mid so hard and that they won every 2v2. It wasn't mithy joining that turned around lemondogs as much as it was kicking wewillfailer, mithy is good but chokes too hard. Lemondogs decided that noonia wasn't good enough and tried out dexter/amazing/another jungler (dexter didn't mention him). Zorozero was the best player on lemondogs in his opinion and they never planned on using yamatocannon, he was just a friend brought in to fulfil riot's sub requirement. He apparently had offers from three EU teams but thought that he could get further on CLG than the other teams. Dexter also says he'll be doing the shotcalling for CLG.

am i the only one having serious issues with hitting smite on drake/nash now? because on those two i always timed smite just by how much health bar was left, and now that they made it longer i'm totally lost. guess i'll have to either suck for a while or start to smite by actually looking at the numbers. :/

Probably depends. If you have enemy team and want someone to peel vs him, he could be a viable option.
Also, his Voidlings do deal insane amounts of damage all the same as support, because with AP they get no scaling anyway. Makes sense to me, I'll try it.

Getting into range for an E on a champ is risky business bot lane, and his main role would be to assist in pushing.
Perhaps as an unorthodox support for 2v1 tower pushes, but def not support viable.

It straight up improves your gameplay to do so.

I'm still not buying him being a terrible champion. At lvl 2 the MF and Thresh were running for the hills as Voidling was dealing insane amounts of damage. Both dropped down to like 20% hp as soon as he came out and the lane was won. In the lategame you just do your thing, permanently 2 OPlings out with 40% CDR.
Maybe I'll try it again but yeah. This is Plat IV, promotion series to Plat III.

Meanwhile: still haven't been able to get a read on Malz, except that getting camped sucks.

Also by the reaction of Dexter and Tabzz on twitter it looked that they got ditchedbackstab by the trio after worlds. I am glad that both the players have found good homes for season 4.

I love that you did it for the first time in your promotion series and won. Did you get a hard time from your team?
