I guess fnatic is very happy about this? 1 ward per non-support + 3 wards for support. That's 7 wards - be honest, pre-3.14 how often as support did you have over 7 wards on the map at a time? A lot? I usually had 5-6 wards on my own. Ruby SS is 3, plus I'd get 4-5 more. The other thing that makes vision control riskier is that support can now be a credible threat, meaning that if you bump into a support you could get murdered when trying to ward, or conversely, if you die it could mean much more. I'm talking about wards out on the map at once. There's literally nothing stopping you from still having 1~2 stacks of wards in your inventory on top of sightstone. Vision control is definitely harder and that's a good thing. Pre-3.14 it was pretty dumb. There was literally 0 thought behind 99% of ward placements outside of the obvious. Granted, loss of oracles and pink wards being super shitty is a big issue, but I don't think pre-3.14 vision was necessarily better. I wasn't referring to having stacks in my inventory to watch my inventory. I would put it down on the map, sometimes I'd have to stagger my ward placement so that they don't all run out on the map. Mid/late-game, it would not be uncommon for me to have 3/4 wards in baron area alone.
It's not necessarily about ward placement location but also timing. I remember playing quite a few games where I would have to make very risky plays to put down wards that would give safety to allow my team to farm.
There aren't really vision wars/control right now. Really.

It was less a war and more like a wave of carpet bombing and minesweeping.
People just need to get used to being in a gamestate where they have to be more careful with where they ward instead of "oh, this is a chokepoint that sees common traffic."

And you still do that because there's no oracles and dewarding with pinks is expensive and possibly unrewarding. Except without the minesweeping, so you just have crappy firecrackers everywhere.
It feels like an entire skillset just became obsolete, and it was interesting skillset at that.
Oh well.

dewarding is so underpowered at the moment, it will be bonkers to watch when korean teams actually buy wards on all roles.

ogn confirmed to play on 3.14 starting this week
HERE WE GO
will be real interesting to see how trinket selection and vision wars are played. i would not be surprised to see one cv, one oracle, and rest pinks but things won't be set in stone this early in the season

Oh yeah, you also can't hold more than 3 wards anyway. Want to buy 5 so you can plant them later? Too bad.

I can just see the koreans finding something gamebreaking to abuse by the 2nd week.
|
Well in KR soloq nothing too crazy has been happening, but maybe the teams are planning some weird stuff;
Also the majority of games had almost nobody going yellow trinket, mostly blue/reds, but a few days later only 1-2 reds per team and the rest yellow.
CV trinket just kind of sucks, needs lower CD to justify it's terrible duration.

All champions unlocked too, so sivir is probably gonna become fotm in soloq again.
I hope heimer turns out to be secretly ridiculously op.

Lol Dyrus was trying the league champion quiz, failed to spell Katarina. Got better score than me in the end though -_-

Why does nobody get Last Whisper on Nasus? I mean yeah you can just go tri and full tank, but if you were gonna get a damage item it seems like it would be best....fat physical base damage seems to scream LW.
|
i get it as my 5th or 6th item

Usually you just want to get really tanky and absorb all the AD you can by standing next to people, withering and using your spirit fire with some thought and you don't really need a LW, although it's certainly not bad, just situational. Identify when you should/can go LW.

Triforce offers utility, like sticking power, also nicer build progression early on. LW probably a better 5th item after boots and 3 tank items.

Is Iceborne still good on him? Or is Tri strictly better now?
|
I feel like LW is good if you really need to kill bruisers, but -40 armor Q's(assuming you placed E correctly) is already a huge amount of shred on any squishy. You'd need a ludicrous amount of Q farm for LW to deal more on a 70 armor(30 armor after reduction) squishy in spirit fire than a triforce. Even then, despite the fact that LW will give more burst damage on a single Q, a hefty chunk of nasus's damage comes from his E and R enhanced autos, which are only effective if you can actually attack people. Triforce gives you a much better chance at doing that, both through higher aspd and ms.
If I had to pick between triforce and LW, I'd pick triforce almost every time. . I don't think there are that many scenarios where nasus can afford to get both either simply due to lack of slots. But if it's like 4-5 physical with 3+melee and an autocentric carry, then I could see LW being better than Triforce.

why would you buy last whisper when you can get black cleaver and give armor pen to your team too.
