Imagine getting rid of the AP on Banner of Command, boom, that's a 900 gold drop, the item now costs 1500.
Mikael Crucible, get rid of all the health regen stats, boom, thats 1600-1700 gold.
Drop the AP and health/mana regen on ohmwrecker. Rather than cost 2800 gold, it'd be down to 1.2k-1.3k gold.
Shard of true ice, get rid of the AP part of it, and it only costs like 800 gold.

Now do these items looks a lot more attractive in current S3? Yes it fucking does. I don't understand why these ideas seem so hard for Riot to implement.

Also in regards to sighstone, why not just make sight stone wards only 1min 30sec coverage? That'd shore up a lot of the "too much" vision problem.

Yes, please, get rid of the regen, the ap, the gp10, all this useless stuff... You should be looking at a powerful low cd active, a primary defense stat like HP or armor or cdr, and MAYBE one tertiary stat like HP or mana regen or gp10 or something, in a small amount. Then you don't need to remake every support spell to scale utility with ap.

No it won't. With the reeduced item cost dynamic. It gives support a choice to go more vision or better combat/utility. Riots change to trinket essentially forces minimal vision and item purchase. Choices > no choices.

That only fixes the issue of having too few items. It doesn't fix the issue of supports feeling like they can't win the game. I rarely talk about this because its not really how I feel, but most my friends who don't like playing support, don't like it because they are like "I warded the bush, but my AD got hooked anyways." Or at a midgame fight they get upset that they can't chase down a guy with 1 bar of HP because of no boots, or cant kill a guy with 2 bars of HP because they dont do enough damage.

Its, like I said, not a balance thing, its a dissatisfaction thing for 90% of the playerbase.

Buy the hpregen elsewhere if you need it. The point of lowering costs was to give powerful, cheap, and slot inefficient items to supports that only gave them tank stats. This way they could feel useful by tanking shots for their carries and using powerful actives to swing fights.

If vision gets nerfed in any way, doesn't that nerf the entire support class as a whole?
I think in our modern age technology has evolved to become more addictive. The things that don't give us pleasure aren't used as much. Work was never meant to be fun, but doing it makes us happier in the long run.

About the trinket mechanics.

Sounds interesting, potentially neat. The Sweeper one has me a little bit worried about how that will affect the viability of champions who rely on momentary stealth (Akali, Akali and also Akali, maybe Rengar too but who gives a fuck about Rengar) but they didn't mention things like ranges or durations or cooldowns so I'm interested in hearing more.

This assumes that vision wasn't too strong as it was. It would have made those smaller items more appealing, but Supports still would have been mass buying wards whenever they got the chance. Something about vision needed to changed.

Rango is a pimp wagon, and is in all honesty decently strong. I've played him to a fair bit of success recently.

And the way they're planning to change Rengar's stealth, he's not all that reliant on it anymore.

the stealth upgrade will probably be early and fairly cheap. having it auto reveal stealth might have shifted balance against stealth too much.
