I could be lying but ill check later tonight when I get the chance lolololololol Also I'm real sad I missed the caster discussion. A few things to say I guess: Sonivs comment about trying casting yourself....I'm not really sure how it applies. I know for certain that not everyone can cast well, either analysis or PBP, but I've never considered it something hard to do either. I don't think that's a testament to my personal skill (mostly because I know I'm shit---TL gives me too much credit. <3 you guys but its true. ), I've just never found what I do for fun particularly taxing or difficult. I'm sure the amount of work it takes to actually be really good I would need much more practice and work put in...but on my level what I do I certainly wouldn't consider hard. Caster hate- honestly I find I don't listen to them much or find I care a great deal for most of the analysis one way or the other The massive caster skype group I am a part of though puts things into an interesting perspective---they know there are a lot of people like TL on the whole who hate their style or how they do things, but they carry on because they do receieve enough appreciation for doing so. As far as restreaming LCS---Yanger has offered to have me restream a lot of Chinese LoL but I've heard horror stories about restreamers having their channels shut down. Not really worth it for me to risk it on LCS either. IHs are another story of course and I do enjoy doing them from time to time---Neo still waiting for your availability so we can do one and you can show me ur skillz! I'll cast with you if Neo dodges more. I think I prefer it to actually playing in the IH's right now(just kinda meh on playing, almost time for my yearly year long break). Ok. You around tonight? Played a bunch of duo q last night so I don't feel guilty if I don't play tonight. All that caster talk makes me want to tryhard cast it though, instead of halfassing it. You up for that? Ah, gonna ditch me in my attempts to climb back up, eh? If you didn't fall so low you'd actually be happy not to have a Silver scrub hindering you! I wanna see another Heimer run to Diamond, c'mon, fall is almost there, it's the perfect time to write History.
Elo Decay super stronk yo.
I could possibly be convinced into a heimer marathon...

I am also sad that I missed the caster talk, because I think that the only real problem is that they never just kind of slow down and let me watch the game. Like, there will be a lot of action where they get intense and then they show a replay (all good so far), but then while its a 2v1 on the map with no one near each other they start talking about each CS sona is going to get (why do I need this?). Better if Phreak and Riv just simultaneously took a long drink of water and let my mind and ears rest. Its not so much about what you say, its about what you dont say. There is a pretty serious unspoken rule about not allowing dead air when you're casting. I think that we can look at LCS casters (who are the only ones who do it this way) and say dead air is preferable to their filler is pretty egregious.
Well, if they could at least go into "soccer mode" for a minute or two. Like, there are always lulls in the action of a soccer game when the teams are kind of in a gentleman's agreement to just pass around and get a blow. Then the announcers just kind of talk to each other in a normal conversational tone about some tangent. Its like the LCS casters watched this episode of HIMYM and thought it applied:

He's like a melee Vlad. Gotta kill him early and keep him behind for the rest of the lane before his sustain kicks in.

Aaw, EUW doesn't have that login screen yet. Also apparently somebody on my friendlist is in Silver IV². What.

Yiss, forecast janna unlocked!
Now, my only concern is that when every video setting is on very low and I raise character detail to medium, everything becomes... BLUE. Any advice?

People are so quick to jump on casters without realizing how hard it is.
Seriously, casting is difficult. Try it yourself. Hell, look at my signature. No one really watches my casts, because as much as I work on it every week, I'm still bad. I come out of a lot of casts thinking about how much better certain things could've gone. There are still times that I completely freeze up during teamfights because there's just so much to watch. Sometimes I just pick the completely wrong angle to watch a teamfight. There was a fight where I watching what a Shyvana would do and in the process I completely miss a perfectly synced teamfight combo of Orianna's Shockwave, Ezreal's Trueshot Barrage, and Sona's Crescendo. Sometimes there's times you want to do analysis and completely forget about what's happening in front of you at the same time. Sometimes your analysis is really long and drawn out and boring because you can't figure out how to make it concise. Sometimes you miss huge item pickups.
(Champion skill names are actually really important and give a lot clarity to the fight. If not skill names, then at least a more general description (for example, Blitz "hook" vs "Rocket Grab") definitely brings a lot more. However, saying things like "Karthus Q" is pretty awkward. When you're playing with your buddies and talking strategy, it's ok, but when you listen to a cast then it's a bit out of place.)
Then you also need to know the players, their playstyles, and their favored champions. How many know the terror that is OMGcool's Zed? Then, how do you transmit it to the audience? How does it influence what you just saw or are about to see? What about the draft?
How do you deal with down time? When do you analyze, and when do you back off and banter?
After all that, at the very core of all this is your voice, how you use it, how clear you are, your energy level, building the pace of the game, building rapport with your cocaster during the game, getting rid of odd speech patterns like "I feel like..." and "Uh" and "Like" and all that. Or even basic things, like if it's hot as hell and there's a lawnmower outside so not only do you feel like crap but you risk having background noise if you open the window.
Finished there? Now deal with the audio engineering side and balancing speech levels throughout the entire cast.
Then when you're all done, someone says "You need more analysis," "You need less analysis," "You completely missed what happened in the teamfight," "Be more critical," "Be less critical," etc. They don't understand all the work you put in, all the speech mechanics that you are still practicing to eliminate, all the in-game knowledge and player/team knowledge that you're still studying just to find those cracks in strategy that you can elucidate on, etc.
I'm not trying to make excuses, but saying things like "You need more analysis" are really vague. Should I have done more research on the teams and players? Is my understanding of the game too low-level? Is it too drawn out, is it too concise, did I just plain miss something?
In the end what it seems that most casters do is they try to find a niche that they can occupy, that they're good at, and that they enjoy doing. The majority of criticism is unhelpful and does not address the more underlying problems, or people might be listing personal preferences instead of something constructive.

dis bullshit. of course everything 'comes down to skill', we define how good something is in solo queue by how disparate the skill levels have to be to make it work reliably. it's a perfectly legit discussion and honestly nobody even cares about the workings of competitive play for it's own sake. well there are like three people but everyone else pays attention to it for some other reason, like application to yolo queue, interest in the personalities, lack of social life, etc.

I thought I made a post about being a corki hipster right after his mana buffs a few patches back but apparently I never did . Yes, the mana buffs he had are HUGE and you can really feel them while playing him.

i got saved from dropping to gold 5 by trinity force corki therefore trinity force corki is god

Corki still feels bleh for an adc. He has 2 scalings for ad, one being his machine gun, and the other being on his ult. His q mana cost is a bit higher than other carry's still (Graves q at max rank 100, Varus q is 90 at max rank) and both scale off of ad.
