Well, no. The advice is "play like a Silver player if you think you should be in Silver." And if you can't play that well, then you don't deserve to be in Silver. It's not really that hard.
Most players who think they think they're better than they are lack some fundamental piece of understanding about the game to make that assessment.
Let's be clear, we're talking about perceptions and not actuality here. The most common complaint looks like so: "I feel like I'm doing better than my team an opponents most games. I out CS my opponent, I out harass and generally win my lane. When teamfights start I feel like contribute above average yet do to the performance of my teammates, I still am not making any progress." The common response to this is "You didn't double the CS of your opponent? You didn't go 25/0/30? You didn't 1v5 the other team? You can't complain otherwise. Doublelift could do that so that's proof you can too."
The paradigm of assessment vs actual rank is misleading because it imputes that your being is what is being measured by the game. It's probably more useful not to think of skill in terms of rank. There are shitstain Nunus in gold who would be in silver otherwise just like there are diamond cannon rushers.

Even if I can't win all my games, the people are nicer than bronze and rarely leave and I don't have to try hard to win. I can still win games even if I play someone for the first time. I want to get better at the game but I'd be fine to always stay silver.
Off topic: I brought up an idea of jungle Shen a while back. What about revive shen? I feel like global ult with revive can be quite strong. Obviously revive isn't always useful, but if the fight is ongoing then it could be somewhat strong. Also it's a lot of temporary health and movespeed.
The problem with revive on shen is that if you're dying early enough in a fight for you to be able to revive and teleport back in to make a difference, chances are you either 1) got completely caught and killed for no benefit or 2) your team is cleaning up because they spent all their damage and cooldowns on a pure tank. either way, revive has much less impact overall than almost any other summoner on shen.
Does any1 play a lot of singed here? How are hybrid pen runes on him? I been trying it and I really like the laning, late game a bit weaker but DMG isn't singed's primary concern anyway.
Is the lucian patch going to come out this week? ive been really saving my IP to get that fool and i thirst for blood. Or should I say, is there somewhere I get go to get an update on this?

I was thinking that a pure tank wouldn't have much influence on a cleaned up fight but one with a shy build or wits end triforce sunfire might be a decent threat after reviving. Obviously since Revive has a long cooldown, it's best to just split push while it's down.
Anyways, I don't need approval. I'm gonna try it out while simultaneously learning Shen. Energy management 2 hard.

This is pretty much what I think as well. I think I am just expecting too much.
Also, I'm not sure how people have not heard of dunkey. One of his videos was shown/featured in one of the breaks in s2 world finals. It was a really odd choice, and I have no idea why Riot did it. It does show how popular he became though.

I play with hybrid pen runes. Half the games I play I do like two times more damage than my ADC. It is quite troubling.

With Singed's flip you can get a free auto. On any champ that you can auto I think Hybrid > Mpen. The arpen will outweigh the loss of Mpen in most trades.
I played 200ish ranked games on singed this season with 60% win rate from Silver V to Gold I, realized I'm terrible at everything else and stopped playing him.
