I don't think I would have such a heavy need for the early vamp otherwise, and just sitting on a vamp until your complete IE, PD feels idiotic. I've been going BoRK-->IE on adcs as well, because the power curve is just so smooth. Bot lane can have awkward blue pill timings, so the fact that every component of BoRK costs 400g makes it unlikely that you'll have a bad buy before the final combine -- at which point you'll have a cutlass anyway, for which the flat damage active is relatively stronger the earlier in the game you get it. Once you complete the BorK your power and utility both jump up, putting you in a good place for mid-game teamfights and making it less likely you'll get forced into a bad fight because you were saving up 1550 for a BF.

Most of the other ADCs in the game typically like BT more than BortK because they have crazy good AD scaling. If everyone wasn't playing blue Ez always I could see BortK being a solid first item on him since it adds to his chasing and kiting potential. BortK is decent on Vayne too imo because you get free AD from her ult and she scales really well with just straight AS not to mention the healing you get from BortK active might make up for the lack of lifesteal you don't have from rushing BT. I think BortK is probably the best item to get first if you're behind in bot lane (like if you or your support have fed a few kills or you can't CS for some reason). But I think it's generally optimal to go IE or BT first even if it means an awkward back. Frankly though once you get good at ADC you shouldn't need to back if you can't afford to buy items unless something crazy is going on like ganks and stuff. Even in those situations you can typically pick up boots or something. edit: BortK might be a stronger mid game item than IE/BT. So if your team comp wanted to abuse a superior mid game I could see it being a solid pick up but there's almost no way BortK rush > IE/BT rush when it comes to late game.

Lifesteal quints and just playing smart make it really easy for Caitlyn, Ashe, or Tristana to just rush IE. It actually makes me kind of angry when I see a Cait or Trist on my team or the enemy team that builds BT or BotrK as first item as I don't feel it's optimal or takes advantage of their strengths at all. Bork works on 2 champs:kog and vayne(and honestly ie is better in some situations for kog). They need the extra peeling tool and have an ability that scales with attack speed.Bork is a good 1 damage item and you shouldn't get it on an ad unless the enemy has someone with 1 who will rape you if you don't have one(or at least a cutlass).I really don't understand people who get it first on any other ad.

BortK is just weird though because it gives you very little AD, good AS, and good lifesteal. The passive is good and the active is great. But IE and BT both fit into a late game 6 item build way better. An item like PD or Shiv is pretty much non-negotiable in your 6 item build so is LW. That takes up two spots already. At some point you are going to want IE or BT on every ADC and if the game goes longer than after you have 6 items you would likely sell BortK to make room for both IE and BT (assuming your sixth item is a defensive one). BortK just doesn't work that well if you're trying to go for a strong late game build imo. It's great if you get behind since you can assemble the pieces together slowly while you try to catch up in CS and still be useful. It's probably the single best item for you to get if your team wants to abuse a superior mid game and you'd only have the gold for one or one and a half items by that point.

So I basically duo q with plat friends because I prefer their games (more difficult but a lot less derp than say low gold). I check my MMR (KissBlade) and compared it to my other gold 5 friends (some with better win/loss) and it sniffs out mine as 1600+ MMR while my gold 5 friends normally seems to sit around 1400 so there's that. To reference, if I solo q into ranked now, I'm always the only gold 5 or sometimes only gold on my team while the rest are plats or gold 1's. (With the occasional diamond 5). I'm just curious how the heck that site can measure your MMR though.

Duo queueing will also skew the mmr then.

I'm in my promos for gold 4 right now and I'm at 1462 mmr apparently, but my friend who literally just got into gold today, after failing his gold promos 2 times before is at ~1600 mmr. That just makes absolutely no sense to me, and now I feel bad about my mmr ![]()

Think about it though, everyone is foaming at the mouth for cross-region competition, it's gonna make the hype for the finals even greater.
