Random aside, I think it's funny that Probuilds doesn't have any data on Chinese players when any "serious" solo queue game played by a Chinese player is going to be played on KR server anyway (which they already have data for) and many of these players' KR smurfs are easily known.

Aren't there alot of good players in chinese server? I thought there would be more good players there due to alot of people having experience with dota 1. Kinda like the case with sc2 in kr.

The thing is, China doesn't have one single server. It has a bunch of smaller regional servers, so it's kind of fragmented. A lot of the good players just end up getting KR smurfs one way or another and just playing KR solo queue.

So, how come they don't just have 1 server?

The population of china is massive. IIRC, china has ~16 servers, each averaging 500,000 players.

Navi's a pretty good guy, takes time to help nubs like me with league advice.

Somebody should give him lots of esports dollars, imo.

The population of China is not THAT much larger then Europe or NA, though. Maybe 2-3 times that of the EUW area, i don't know exactly which countries that servers area consist of. But China definitively does not have 16 times as many people. And i think they have a larger percentage of people in poor rural areas, though i don't have any statistics to back that up and might be completely wrong here.

So my guess would be that if they had servers as large as EUW or NA, they should have 2 or 3 of them, not 16. So with 16 servers there must be something else going on there other then just the larger population. Maybe Riot is just trying to go towards smaller servers in general.

Before I go to bed, just some wikipedia.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Demographics_of_Europe

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Demographics_of_China

So, nearly twice as many people in China as in all of Europe.

Ok, i'll take the time and look it up. All data from Wikipedia and roughly rounded.

EUW Country list:
France 65m
Switzerland 8m
Belgium 11m
Liechtenstein 30k
Luxembourg 0.5m
Netherlands 17m
Germany 81m
Austria 8.4m
Italy 60m
Vatican 836
San Marino 32k
Portugal 10.5m
Spain 47m
Gibraltar 30k
Andora 85k
Monaco 35k
Malta 0.5m
UK 63m
Ireland (eire) 6.3m
Sudan 31m
Tunisia 11m
Algeria 38m
Morocco 33m
Ivory Coast 21m
Benin 9.5m
Guinea 10m
Niger 17m
Burkina Faso 15.7m
Togo 7m
Chad 10.3m
Central African Republic 4.4m
Republic of the Congo 4m
Gabon 1.5m
Cameroon 19.4m
Gambia 1.8m
Madagascar 22m
Mauritius 1.3m
Djibouti 0.8m
Seychelles
Ghana 24.2m
Mali 14m
Sierra Leone 6m
South Africa 52m
Malawi 15m
Zambia 14.3m
Namibia 2.1m

Apparently we also got all of africa on the EUW server according to this post: http://euw.leagueoflegends.com/eu-west-and-eu-nordic-east-country-list-0

Anyways, this gives us a total population of ~380m without the african countries, and ~760m with them. China has 1.35b people in it according to wikipedia. Which means that depending on how you value the african countries, you end up with ~2-4 as many people in China as in the EUW server region. Exactly like i stated before. Now, i would guess that on average, more people in Europe have access to a computer with internet and the ability to play LoL than in China, but in Africa there are probably less. I don't know if there is any official data from riot on how many people play on each server, but i would be really confused if the number in China is 16 times as large as on EUW.

Because I was a big clg.eu fanboi at the time, the clg.eu vs M5 match with the crazy comeback was really awesome to watch.

WE vs CLG EU in the season 2 finals, 8+ hour series lol
just kidding.

Azubu Blaze vs Azubu Frost in OGN Champions Winter was really good. Most OGN bo5 series are pretty good, especially if they go to blind pick.

In the LPL I just saw a Diana jump over a wall (the thin ledge at the top-right of the dragon pit, near the ramp to purple-side blue) by dashing to somebody close to it, and instead of "leaving" her target's model behind it in the river, she crossed the wall. Weird. Vi wasn't even touching said wall nor having her back directly to it.

I have two questions as I started to play league again. I never was very good at the game (2k elo season 2, Gold1 season3 though I played much less) at I have been gone for like ten weeks. So here are my two questions:

- What are the top 3 strongest/most picked champions for each role at the moment? If they have funky item builds/or if all item builds are similar at the moment, feel free to explain them Really safe picks are also nice to know as they are good to improve imo.

- I believe that coaching is a great way to get better in almost anything. Are there any people who provide affordable and good coaching on the EUW server?

Sejuani is still too strong. She has CC, movement, and dmg...as a TANK. It's not fair, jumping walls, escaping fights and then punishing the heroes who chase EZ PZ.

Turtle about to get his 3rd account into challenger, 85-16 record going into his promo series... pretty ridiculous.

Anyone following SC2? I dont even understand whats going anymore lol. They had the GSL because OGN/MBC didnt want to pick up SC2 afair. All good except for this super tournament I think.
Then somehow blizzard has this WCS thing with the best players from each region qualifying for an Offline event. And now.. I dont even understand what this is. Korean players (mma, forgg, mvp(!)) playing in a WCS europe tournament and somehow there is no GSL but it is merged with this WCS or something and there is challenger and premium league which replaced code s and a or something, like wtf?
Is it possible to make it even more complicated? Not that I care very much, but it would be nice to be able to understand what is going on without reading like fucking 15 liquipedia pages. Jesus Christ. And this is supposed to get more people into E-Sports and specifically SC2? Lmao
