do you mean like less incentive psychologically? it was pretty derpy of riot to let this happen but it'll be over in less than a week. or do you mean it's actually less incentivized in the system? because it doesn't matter what LPs say.

I won 4 games in a row and I'm still sitting at 0 points in Diamond 1. I see no point in playing this game now. Staying in Challenger seems to simply involve a lot of time due to the way it's set up (better play a million games in the first 7 days and get your LP score high so you don't get kicked out of Challenger in a while). I just don't have the time for that.
Sorry for the whining Neo, just sad. =(

I didn't think you were whining.

So if anyone didn't catch this, changing your keybindings can cause a crash. It happened to me recently and now there's a thread on reddit for it. :/

You know it's possible to understand the system, just not agree with it, right?

"You know it's possible to understand the system, just not agree with it, right?" implies that he doesn't understand that it's possible to understand something but not agree with it. Something elementary students are able to grasp.

No. It means I'm surprised that people who post here so regularly aren't reading the posts in this thread. I also mean that I'm surprised (and impressed) by the psychological resilience of the new system's misdirection. I'm writing a FAQ right now that should put it in black and white and hopefully clear things up.
BP is just being an idiot (how's that for passive?). I'm not trying to defend the system, I'm not particularly interested in whether people like or dislike it, but it's clear a lot of people here don't really get how it works. I'm not addressing anyone who knows the mechanics.

regardless of how it works I dont need a gold I doing the bans for my plat I game just because his hidden elo is higher. who gives a sht when hes still banning shen amumu malph.

yes i am very annoyed by the fact that because i lost a lot of games right when the new system started im now constantly getting lower divisions picking above me. At this rate I will have to go on a ridiculous win streak to get matched up with people in the same division.

And TBH, those arent really all that bad for SOLO Q bans (emphasis noted). Realistically, any lockdown tank is godlike in solo q simply because you have to rely on an ADC who cant be relied on to outscale and outposition a tank.

Ty Snip. Can we now move on from complaining about the new system? + Show Spoiler +It's not new, it's just a fucking facade!!!
I'd like to start playing a really good initiator. Malph, Shen and Amumu are permabanned at my elo, what would be a good pick up? J4? XZ?

I've picked up J4 in the last month and I love his play. His ult can be used to solve a lot of otherwise troublesome situations. Few things were cooler to me, in league, like watching a korean game where J4 ulted 3 people, flashed out, and his team proceeded to lay the 5v2 smackdown and then come back for the rest.

And ofcourse if you have a team full of trolling D-bags, J4 will allow you to box in their bruisers with your carries, staying safe himself by flagjumping out.
Dont forget to dance.

I'm not addressing anyone who knows the mechanics. I don't want to play in order to upgrade a hidden number somewhere. If the goal of ranked games is still elo, then there is no reasons to hide it in the first place. The goal is to get to a certain Division / league, period. Elo doesn't mean shit now, since it's hidden. The system is not confusing, the system consider elo as an artefact, a tool for the system to place people and evaluate their positions, and it stays centered around divisions. So if you gain 0 pts, you can touch yourself saying "my elo, the real number that really is interesting to play for, is actually improving", but in the end every body knows that we want those 100 LP, and we play with that goal in mind. Even if you are right in theory, one can understand that people don't like playing to gain 0 LP.

You're quoting a post about how I'm not addressing or interested in Argument X, and how irrelevant it is to what I'm saying, and then presenting Argument X to me and saying "don't you think I'm right? I think this is a very good argument."
There's also this underlying implication that knowing how the system works can't actually help you gain visible rating, if you prioritize that. I leave it as an exercise to the reader to pick this idea apart.

But it has nothing to do with how the system has been made, its architecture, but why people play and the incidence of the system on it. I did not state any argument, I stated facts : people play for divisions and thus league points, not elo. The knowledge about the system is something else entirely. It's not useless, but it's just not the point here.
