I thought it was going to be a big difference, guess not :\ I think the main difference they were aiming for was to make it hard for laners to take jungle farm, and less just straight-up putting more farm in the jungle.

If lane gold is going down, and jungle gold is going up (albeit only a small amount in comparison to previous jungles), then it is in fact a larger buff than it may initially appear. Everyone seems to be focusing on specific changes without taking into account the other changes being made. Well that depends, I haven't seen any numbers on lane farm. I'd be very interested to see 11 minutes worth of perfect CS in lane on PBE compared to live, just to get a price point difference.
I thought I also read somewhere that a lot of the bigger carry items are also going to be a bit more expensive, while bruiser items are generally the same or a bit more affordable, which also helps farm junglers. The downside is that the lessened cost may not matter much once you get relegated down your Machete build path.

Lane gold isn't going down. The value of lane creeps has decreased, but only insofar as compensates for the increase in passive gp10. The net change for someone last-hitting perfectly should be close to 0. (Ranged/Melee minions are all worth 2g less base, but Siege minions are worth 13g more. This is an approximate loss of 15g per minute, which is slightly less than the 18g per minute gain from the passive gp10 increase).
It is, however, very hard to gauge things due to the item revamp, especially as so many of the items base their value/strength on difficult to value actives and passives (e.g. Wraith Collar, Raging Hydra, Runaan's Hurricane).

So does TL have any plans for S3? Anything you want to focus on or avoid in particular, any champions that you want to add to your roaster? Personally, I have come up with the following champion pool that I want to focus on:
Top: JARMAN, Lee, Riven. Not sure how I will deal with Irelia yet, but we'll see. I don't really care too much though, partly because I think I am more experienced on these champions than most Irelias I will face, partly because, well, AT LEAST THOSE CHAMPS ARE FUN TO PLAY DUH.
Mid: Ziggs, Ahri, Talon. Too many times have I focussed on what the team ''needs'' and what would synergize with other champions, when in reality, I'm too much of a baddie to utilize these feats most of the time. Screw that. Fun is where it's at.
Jungle: Shaco, Lee, Mummy. I will always take the mummy if my mid does not need blue because camping bot with that ultimate is just awesome, Shaco and Lee are fun champions. Basically it.
ADC: Caitlyn, Draven. Underplayed and fun. Not much to say, bot is my least favourite lane.
Support: Lulu, Leona, Blitz. Aggro supports is where it's at.
So yeah, have you guys done any planning along those lines? Anything you wanna share?

i think the important context for the jungle giving the same amount of gold is that it takes more time and hp, requires you to spend gold on jungle clearing items instead of champion killing ones, and affords you less opportunities to gain gold from ganking.

Plans for s3: J4/Xin and go manmode with romance of 3 kingdoms skins. Wukong for the inevitable Great Sage skin.

We got ourselves a Mastery Calculator for Season 3 now. http://www.finalesfunkeln.com/s3/
My plans for Season 3 are to actually start playing it again, would be so much easier if I knew people that played it already.

My plan is to be not fucking horrible at this game.
It will take some work.

I'm focusing on non-jungle roles, and I'm avoiding the picks I find easy or familiar. The goal is to break down some bad habits, improve my ability to position/CS, and generally carry these skills over to other roles (i.e. jungling).
Although I definitely plan on abusing MPen Xerath and SotD Xin Zhao for fun and profit.

Xerath sounds fun with pretty much true dmg with his W. maybe he can go R>Q>W>E for maximum poke?

My super secret strat right now is Jungle Nocturne with Ohmwreaker. I already liked Catalyst on him to help with his sustain/tankiness in the jungle, but turning it into Banshees just seemed like spell shield overkill.
Ohmwreaker just seems like it will be amazing. Wards can't save you, towers can't save you.

Great Idea. I've always felt like my champ pool has gotten watered down just because I never stick to things. I guess my goals this season would be:
Top- Jax, Fiona, Warwick Mid- Diana, Twisted Fate, Pantheon AD- Twitch (I REALLY wanna get good at Twitch), Ashe Support- Ali, Fiddlesticks, Crank Jungle- Rammus (I'm really hoping the changes make the Moose viable again. By far my favorite champion) Shyvananana, Dunkmaster,
I'm excited to see how the changes effect who can jungle well. I also really hope I stick to this list and get good a couple champs.

Goals for champs: Top: get Irelia solid, revisit Riven, maybe Vlad. Jungle: better Skarner, more Amumu, perhaps Diana and Shyvana again Mid: Learn the role with Ori/Vik/TF/Diana ADC: If I'm forced to play it, something like Varus or Trist (Edit: TWITCH ALSO ACCEPTABLE) Support: Lulu/Zyra/Nami
Overall, be the most manner player in Silver. Maybe Gold.
Edit 2: Oh, and outside chance, get a Riot job.

Top - Darius/Irelia/Jax/Vlad
want to keep it to those 4. maybe the occasional singed huehue
I don't play mid so fuq mid.
Jungle - Noct/Lee like I always played start of season 2 with skarner/mundo. Probably my 4 favorite jungles. Need to work on maokai tho.
ADC - Cait/Ezreal/Graves/Corki/MF. I <3 ADC but I suck at it.
Support - Janna/Zyra/Taric/Sona!!! Definitely Sona.
I just want to focus on a role in S3 but it's very hard to in soloq. :<

Yeah, you want to do QEQW, R>Q>W>E with Xerath. For items, I like boots/3hp => 2 dorans rings => lucidity boots => deathcap => void staff. You can get away with this because of Xerath's range. I like lucidity boots over sorc boots because Xerath already gets a fair amount of spell penetration from his skills and he needs CDR badly. Even so, I don't find Xerath's damage to be that great when compared to other AP champs.

Plan for S3 : reach 2000 elo with heimerdinger only once he's fixed.

Alright, I guess a bit more descriptive. I'm with Terranasaur, where I play too much crap and never get good at any one in particular. Now I'm going to hold you guys to this, if you see me playing anyone except these champions in a tryhard or ranked game, yell at me:
Jungle: Skarner, Hecarim, Udyr, Zed Top: Riven, Nunu, Vlad, Jayce, Zed, (maybe Elise once I learn her) Support: Taric, Nunu, Janna, Soraka ADC: Cait, Ezreal, Graves Mid: TF, Vlad, Ryze, Zed, (maybe Elise once I learn her)

Top - Irelia/Jax/Nunu, throw in an Olaf, finally get good at Swain even if he sucks against current FotM. Smash made me want to Xin too. Mid - Viktor/Orianna/Ryze, and Talon or Syndra. Maybe Morgana if I get to finally play her again. Jungle - Nautilus if S3 see him buffed back a bit, Maokai, Mundo. I'd like Udyr but people have no idea playing with a non-initiator. AD - Sivir, Ashe. I'd like Draven or Vayne but my mechanics suck too much. Support - Leona, Sona. Maybe I should go with Blitz for aggro, and try to relearn Alistar (I can't play him aggro since all his nerfs, I have no idea how to play a lane as him... taking advice).

Real men try this in his current state.
