So I guess it's a good thing I can't play at the moment? There was so much talk about yoloQ being more random that it already was these days. Is it that horrible? I have troubles comprehending how the MMS puts players of 1,2k difference into the same games.

The elo I'm using is from last season.Like I have a friend who was 1300-1400 for the whole season 2 and is now 1800.

A lot of people really don't think for themselves when it comes to stuff like masteries and item builds, and they just copy what they see on stream. But quite a fair number of pros/streamers aren't that sharp when it comes to the theorycraft/analysis department either, so we're going to see a lot of bad builds from streamers, and therefore a ton of equally bad builds trickle down to lower level solo queue (and it will last much longer because while the streamers may find new builds and fix their errors, misinformation sticks around for much longer).

It's going to be like the wild west our there for months after the item changes.

A friend of mine who was barely 1300 last season got matched up with a couple Plat solo queuers a few games ago. That kind of stuff should not be happening given that the soft reset should of placed them well above him....

I think it sounds important l0l I'm not sure if this is exactly what you mean, but if you use your W on your jump (i.e. use it before/during jump and before you autoattack), you're wasting an extra auto, because W resets your attack animation. The other thing that you could be mentioning is that you attack creeps twice, jump, and your first autoattack will be both ultimate and W empowered, resulting in a big burst and the possibility to hit more ulti procs.

On the flip side, people who are adept at discovering broken mechanics or abusive builds will have a big windfall. Things like MPen stacking on Xerath, Xin Zhao and Sword of the Divine, Muramana Ryze etc. have the ability to cheese games and inflate rankings.

But this also means that you'll have a larger comparative advantage if you are good at theorycrafting builds. Good theorycraft is probably one of the hardest skills to differentiate yourself currently, since most of the optimal builds have been figured out and copied by people with weak theorycrafting skill. (imagine if a larger portion of players built the recommended chalice on miss fortune...)
