Have yet to do my placements for S3, but his teammates make me wonder how these ppl even got gold/plat (esp. the last game the game just now with his Jax teammate). This is like worse than silver league ranked. ELO inflation is a terrible thing.

This is like worse than silver league ranked. It is jarring to see him teamed up with people who only made Gold. I mean, I suck, but what I know because of that is that there's no way Golds should be playing with TOO. They'd look WAY worse by comparison (see the aforementioned Jax).

I think it sounds important l0l Basicaly how it goes is that you're trying to proc your ults third this extra damage thing on your jump. What you do is that you hit minions twice and then you q leapstrike onto them. After seeing the ults proc you imediatly hit w for another aa w combo. From there you've already own the trade pretty hard and you need to judge what to do next. if they run away from you you do the same and go back to farming minions. if they start aaing you back you pop your e and keep aa'ing and wing when that gets up. This is the core of why jax auto wins so many lanes. no champ really has a response to this kind of skirmishing.

Is there a big list of all S3 items somewhere? All this talk about theorycrafting has made me want to put together a pool of items for each champ I play so I can start hammering out some rough builds. Edit: Not just the new ones, but the stats and prices of all the ones that are changing as well.

I've encountered a number of people who were obviously boosted to their S2 rankings, whether via friends on their accounts or through 3s/5s teams carrying them. The most egregious so far was a "platinum" Twitch player in the 1300 range who genuinely deserved to be in the triple digits. He couldn't CS to save his life, was continually caught and murdered, had the game sense of someone who'd never played the game, and built horribly wrong. Thankfully he was on the enemy team. :D

Is there any good top laner that allows you to catch up if you outplay the opponent despite making early mistakes? e.g. someone who isn't too vulnerable to making the lane snowball. I'm fine if that means it won't snowball in my favor either. I might just revert to playing bankplank since I usually did well with him when I just farmed (it's low elo; apparently many people can't deal with the stress of me not trying to kill them). But common Jax and Irelia picks tend to screw me over there. (Also, screw Irelia.) Maybe I should just play mid where being impatient is nowhere as punishing :-/

You can fall behind, but it's a lot easier to catch up compared to, say, Irelia or Jax when you fall behind. Truth be told, it kind of takes away the point if picking Lee (which is being an annoying, dominant asshole) in the first place, and late game Lee is more of a peeler than an assassin with the most builds out there, but if you master the monk he offers INSANE amounts of utility for the whole team. Oh, stupid me. I forgot about Darius. He's good too. Go 0/7 in lane, first teamfight, back to 5/7. And he's good against Jax and Irelia.

Irelia can lane against everyone and doesn't care if she's behind too much(true for most match ups but not all), Jax scales well, too, so does Vlad. But if you like GP then just play gp..

Besides, GP is a good pick for that situation, in my opinion. If you get behind, you can always relegate yourself to sitting back, farming with Q, and healing yourself. Maxing Oranges makes you very hard to kill for most non-burst top laners, so if you find yourself in a bad spot, just do that. GP's lategame is pretty damn good, all things considered, so even if you're not crushing your lane, you can always just bank on that. My personal problem that I have with Bankplank is that I always forget that you can't fight worth shit until your gold starts kicking in, lol. I die way too much trying to fight the DBlade stacking Jayce while I've got Avarice/Philo.

I'm going to be very excited with S3, when Avarice builds into Atma's. It still won't be the best item, but at least it's a nice build path for the gold item.
