Well Elise has good base values, and the way her spiderlings function makes it so your kill range in spider form is bigger than just an assassination/execute, plus her steroid gives her and her spiderlings a on-hit flat heal, and her spider form gives her an on-hit ala wit's end.
So you just build some AD and lifesteal to go with her steroid, then some AS just because, resists to scale with those heals, and then you screw people's pathing with repel, press W and right-click them.
Uh I didn't know Rappel allowed her to see stealthed champs and enemy in brushes, that's powerful.

meh, I don't understand the need to compare it to TI2 so much. Both were good tournaments in their own rights.
I'm just happy that the Clg.eu vs WE d/c games could have been received a lot worst. Thankfully well produced finals made up for it, and everything seemed to be forgiven.

The fact of the matter is Draven does really well against Graves/Corki and better than most vs Ez . Well, Draven was an example. I'm not saying she only works with Draven. I'm saying she works with a bully like Draven. Draven is very aggressive, so he's my best example. Corki, Ez etc can be bullies too. I'm just saying she wants an aggressive lane, she doesn't do as well in passive lanes. Her passive gets better the more she hits something, so she wants trades, not pokes. So she'd do good with a Draven, or a Graves, but less so with an Ashe or a Cait, because both of them would prefer to back off to counter-aggression.
Draven OP. Nerf please.

I like how the two champions koreans were outspoken about being overrated in the west (nunu support / Kat) are seeing a lot of play in the IPL5 quals

I am pretty sure it was like 1-2 players who felt Nunu was UP.

Except they can easily show 30 ads during the games. And we haven't factored in sponsors yet.

Yea I'm quite sure if you look at the event itself they lost money. I'm assuming they are looking to gain money through increased exposure in the long run. Competitive gaming isn't really a short term investment so they wouldn't be too bothered with current figures I think, it's more about growth for the future so it can become a revenue source.

30 x 30,000 doesn't even cover 1st place prize, and even $1mil is pocket change. Riot was worth $400 million at the beginning of 2011 (when Tencent bought them) and given their recent growth they are probably worth significantly more than that by now.

Aphromoo random locking Annie because he didn't react fast enough. Hue.
Streams are always laggy for me at this hour (~8 PM here), is that the same for other people? Doesn't seem to come from my connection.

Seems fine on my end but then again I've only ever had own3d streams lag out on me(eagle hitting internet cables aside..)

Yeah, Riot doesn't gain it's money from ads, it does it by increasing the playerbase (higher viewercount for tournaments == more new players introduced to the game), players buy shit from Riot, profit.

I found her best with a lane bully like Draven. Her ball provides MR/AR even when the shield is down, as long as the ball is on the target, so he's bullying you leave it on him, when he's last hitting you keep in the bush for zoning/control. if you go draven, nunu support da best. BB really helps w/ mobility because draven has no escape (i dont really count the E) and lets him catch axes ez, and that atkspd means you do ridiculous damage. id go lulu or janna over orianna personally. she's not bad, but lulu/ janna has stronger poke and more utility. lulu passive is useful, but orianna passive needs money to be good. I've always found Draven + morgana lane to be one of the best, the black shield prevents him from getting slowed down or cc'd, allowing him to chase/catch axes all day.
Hmm, that's cool. Since most damage in bot lane is physical, its basically free anti-CC. I haven't played much Morg support though-- still, I feel for a squishy support she doesn't have much utility compared to, say, Janna, Lulu, Raka or Sona.

After TF gets lichbane it doesn't look all too bad for him to be running like that but with just boots 1, it looks so awkward. Here's hoping that he gets shrunk down instead of everyone else being scaled up.

Having a slow item (doesn't matter which) is so bloody useful for a bruiser build. Rappel doesn't screw up pathing enough most of the time (too few spiderlings) and if your opponent is running away at all your spiderlings do nothing and you have no way to stop them without switching to human form. This is also why I'm liking exhaust over ignite, exhaust seems to make more damage happen. ofc if you're jungling you have red buff and don't have to worry for the first half of the game.
For a caster build I've been liking penetration and more penetration with CDR from wherever (blue/masteries/item) leveling Q first. Q actually does a ton of damage and has a low CD. While I've had the best caster performance from this so far I'm not sure it's going to be reliable compared to the bruiser build since resistances are just so cheap.
Rageblade is pretty fun. #1 damage item efficiency for Elise by far if your opponent likes to cuddle spiders.

His animations are just really bad. Whatever, Riot more than makes up for it with Elise. Everything about that champion is just fantastic, even the design. (Except maybe the fact that the best build on her appears to be bruiser, despite her only having AP ratios...) Yeah how are people building her exactly? Why is bruiser Elise so much better than AP?
It's a matter of practicality. Spider Form's on hit magic damage and Venomous Bite are melee range, Neurotoxin is short range (roughly 600-625), and Spiderlings are only slightly more reliable than Malzahar's Voidlings were at launch. Essentially, Elise has one ability that can be used from a safe distance, everything else requires her to get into the thick of it. You can't run a standard AP build with that sort of skillset.
So what makes sense are tanky AP/bruiser builds. The theory behind bruiser builds in particular is fairly straightforward, the only one of her abilities that is weak without AP is Volatile Spiderling. Everything else has some form of scaling or usefulness that is independent of AP. As a result she can work very well as a bruiser in spite of all her AP ratios.
I can't say from experience whether tanky AP or bruiser is better, but it should be fairly clear why people are finding bruiser builds effective.
