When was it that pre nerf revolvers could stack? Cause spell vamp akali was a beast with those things. Like 20% spell vamp each or something

Sometimes I really don't understand westdoor0204's item choices. How on earth would you even consider to prioritize getting kage, and wota before boots as mordekaiser, 10 minutes into the game? Granted the enemy jungler is Shyvana who has rather poor ganks, but not having boots still make you easy preys.
EDIT: 16th minute, he is 2-4-5, still no boots. It seems that he will almost surely get dcap before boots this game. Bloody hell.
EDIT2: he bought boots at 20th minute after he lost his tower.

Kindlegem was added like Sept 10th 2010, it was pretty much something Ruby Crystal built into for Shuerelias. It was the same patch as Sona. Pretty much the only use at the beginning was it slowly weaving into Soul Shroud and then Spirit Visage. Of course Locket was still in the game at the time so nothing beat rushing that on Veigar/Udyr/everyone.
Honestly there have been some pretty amazing item abuses back in the day, such good memories.

Edit: zzz. OP.

Old Akali was a complete nightmare O_o, it was so ridiculously strong... could 100-0 anyone with old gunblade.

when i first started my friend and i reached a consensus that malphite was incredibly op (probably because his abilities are pretty intuitive). it was somewhat fulfilling when malphite actually became op lol. i too hated the shit out of akali back in the day and i hated tryndamere even more. tryndamere used to be 1st ban status below like 1200 when i first started ranked play. further back was pd first ashe, and even further than that were my mbr on every carry days.

a little bit after his most recent remake (ohh.... idk 8 months ago? maybe a bit less?) tryndamere was insanely powerful. basically could a-move his way to victory top lane with 1 item. the protoss of LoL (h4h4). so if that's when you started, then yeah trynd was OP
i remember PD first ashe too. near the end of s1? people were all about ashe's utility more than her damage, so her ult and arrows were insanely highly valued. don't think it was ever overpowered but it was definitely a cool/different style.
man, thinking back to all the trends of things that have been OP... LoL such a great historied game. like if i could take my game knowledge now, and transport me back to the beginning of s1... holy shit haha. i would be so dominant. it's funny the trends we don't see until well after the fact.

Locket abuse was probably the most ridiculous. Pretty much everyone had infinity sustain with it - like 50-75 HP5, so it was burst or no dice. (And it had like +400 HP?)

The reason why Trynda was so good was because he had insane sustain with his Q and the rage decay was so slow. They nerfed both really hard.People were .going as far as running ap quints and you could just stay top forever no matter what

Locket was nice because you could take any shitty hero and put locket on them and they'd be good, and you could take any decent hero and put locket on them and they'd be broken. Take a broken hero and put locket on them and life was fucking good.
veigar locket: bad ---> good pantheon or nasus locket: decent ---> broken sona or gragas locket: broken ---> cannot lose

udyr and gragas locket oh my god cannot lose -> can 1v5

I miss Locket, IDK about you guys haha

yes but trynd wasn't good with ap quints. the fact that you could run ap quints on a physical melee carry and not do shitty should have been an indication that he would be overpowered with a more natural build his Q was a big part of how strong he was but his ability to 1v1 anyone with one 1600g item is what the problem was. impossible to push out of lane, impossible to trade with, impossible to gank, impossible to kill. he was like a top-lane nightmare.
somewhat coincidentally i think that had we known malphite's power back then, malphite would have been the end-all be-all counter to trynd at the time too. but i think the big one that people picked was ww iirc

i always thought locket panth was kinda shit, but w/e
locket urgot tho, man, i was just getting started on that madness when they took my locket away T.T

Once you got a decent amount of armor it was fine and you could farm without the fear of dying randomly to crits but early levels were just so stupid. You could come to lane with a full armor rune page and still get shit on.

Stacking revolvers for only 1200g for 20% spellvamp so OP back then T_T so was cheap WOTAs

I will still never forget tapiocaball tryharding in a trollhouse with locket udyr and still losing l0l
And man i've not played since beta but i did start over 2 years ago. Crazyyy. Didn't realize it's been that long. I think some people did still use cdr/lvl blues for a while. But it took them a long time to realize supports aren't dead weight, shurelyas is awesome, as is aegis, gp10's can actually be useful, and that mr/lvl blues are awesome. I remember supports used to always build doran rings and half the time couldn't even afford an aura item before shurelyas was even in the game and people's ideas began to change. The addition to kindlegem, adding items it could build into, and nerfing/buffing certain runes all played a factor into all the changes in the metagame.
Like hell back in those days malady still gave lifesteal. Do you remember all the bad players building malady on ww and teemo? I do lol We walked 15 miles from top lane to bot, and didn't have cdr boots to do it either, sonny.

But it was weird on the other team they'd rape and go like 500-0 and our team they'd go 0-500.
which still happens today though
